Yep, sure is......I have a life...and evidently you don't. Sucks to be you. Keep trying hard and you might win the big Aces Highs Jackpot they give to the highest ranked person each tour!!

Here's a post you'll never see, subtract 1:

"Congratulations to the top 100 ranked AH players.   Too bad we didn't have you Aces around in WWII :D Some players will say you don't have a life, you cheat, you manipulate and you fight in all four major food groups (and of course they don't have time because they have meetings with large public figures in expensive places), but rest assured that the fox DID want the grapes ;)  Hats off "

I fail to see how "I AM RANKED HIGHER THAN YOU SO I'M BETTER" is any better or worse than "MOMMY, THE KIDS AT SCHOOL SAID THEY WERE RANKED HIGHER THAN ME!"

Throwing your "rank" around like it means something is silly.  So is coming to be board looking for confirmation when soeone does it to you.

Don't know about you all but I worked rather hard at getting a good rank this tour.  I spent more time then I normally do and well it was fun as hell.  Some of these guys are in teh top 5 every tour and to displace them is an honor.    I agree with Deja though.  Tisk Tisk

I have it on good authority that this young man was drunk and ornery last night.

not sure but it seems like some people misinterpreted raubvogel's post. what i think he was trying to say was that rank doesn't matter that much coz as many of us who have taken the time to look at other players ranks have seen, some players fly only fighters others fly only bombers. others fly mainly fighters etc etc. that's why rank doesn't mean much. if anything matters it's not the rank but the kills to death and to a lesser extent the kills per sortie ratio for fighters but that's just my opinion.

p.s. some highly skilled fighter pilots look for the most challenging fights either against single opponents at a time or multiple opponents all at once so their rank may not show it but if u meet them 1 to 1 u might be in for a big surprise.

Raub's post was in reference to someone who tried to prove they were the better pilot by refering Raub to thier higher rank.

If someone needs to use a rank to display their skill (let alone VERBALIZE how good they are) then they are obviously insecure and lacking in other areas.  That is sad.

One tour I thought I'd try flying for rank.

Ran buff missions, milk runs, jabo attacks, pt boat runs, GV long drives. Flew a few fighter sorties, did NOT have a whole lot of fun proved that anyone can get ranked in top 50 if you really try. Thats it havn't really bothered since. Score means nothing. What AH needs is a big "Fun" Meter.

Actually in the current state of the economy, its ok to suck. I make it a priority each day that Im not listed very hi in AH. That way I simply blend in with all the other people who cant make a living getting kills either :p

So your saying if your rank is high that your not having fun?
I fly fighters, I fly buffs, I ride the PT boats and do the Jabo thing.
I have fun the whole time im playing, if not I would log off.
Your post kinda smacks ya fer having a high rank.

If you've been around this game very long at all......

........ and HTC took away all the ranking data

You would still know who was good and who wasn't.

As some Navy puke once said, "You meet a better class of person in the vertical".

actually if anything is relevant it'd be kill/sortie as opposed to kill/death.

kill/sortie shows how effective you are each time you takeoff, regardless of the outcome when your flight is ended.

kill/death just shows who the weenies are.

besides, it's so easy to game the ranking system - really.

but i'll agree that "rank" is meaningles, everything is meaningless except the outcome of any particular encounter with some other player(s). we all have a good idea of what's what and who's who in the game -  those who haven't had time in MA will eventually learn the same.

Remove the "highly skilled" from that statement and your on the money..

Some fighter pilots that suck, do that too :D

Exhibit A right here.

But when the moon is 3 degrees above the horizon, temperture and humidity is "just" within established parameters, and God guides me...

I ain't half bad :D
