Post by: westover on June 01, 2002, 10:34:17 AM
Just a quick question in regards to the tbm. why is the turrett gun non-functional when you are on the runway. i couldn't get off of a particular base due to the severe vulching:mad: so i decided to get in a TBM and wait for them to come to me:) BOY was I surprised:eek:

It's that way so 30 people won't decide to create a new ack perimeter using buff turrets.

So that they can't be used as AAA.

if someone wants to sit on the ground & be a target in return for the pleasure os firing twin 0.50s at a Jabo, let 'em - if they get in trouble they can dive away by pulling up gear      ¦¬þ
(turn off any AI gunners on the ground though)

and using a B17 as a AAA emplacement is? :)  better off grabbing an M16 and using the quad .50s

can you imagine the results of allowing a b17 to fire at planes while on the ground? It would be like an uber M16

imagine it, crap it used to be like that.  then when you over flew em they'd drop their load and car bomb ya.

Title: I agree that bombers should be able to fire while on the ground

It is unrealistic if the bomber isnt able to fire on the ground while it is taking off. I feel it should be up to the pilot if he or she wants to gun their plane on the ground anyhow most likely the fighters who want to kill you on take off most likely will do it so why not let us gun our planes on the ground. Isnt this game suppose to be about reality anyhow?:D

No bombers ever took off from an airfield that was being actively straffed by fighters.  It would have been suicide in reality and it is suicide in AH.

The only reason to want bombers to be able to fire their guns while on the ground is as an AA platform.  If you want that, take an M-16 or an Ostwind.

AH has any number of concessions to gameplay, and/or to the obvious fact that death in AH is not permanent (and thus the fear of death is not the natural behavior moderator it is in real life).

Ground vehicles are supposed to have more armor than planes and be harder to kill.
But I think the M16 is easier to destroy than a Buff :)
