we should be able to customise our planes\vehicles
this would include
custom paint
custom guns for bombers (nod will like this)
customisable hanger lists (put your favorite planes on the top and ones you would never dare fly at the bottom)

i have thought that it would be a cool feature to "customize" a plane too, but there are a few problems. firstly, i dont know exactly how accurate they are, but the plane models come as they were in WW2. also the paint and colour of a plane is a good way to identify planes-if you have the identify icon set to names- although it would be a good feature to change the camo to suit the different environments.

Not trying to be preachy, just curious. We had this ability in AW. Why is AH different in this regard?

I think Vorticon wants you to be able to customise your paintjob so that other players will see your bad self in your pimped out ride. In AW, only you could see how cool you were.

if we do get a customized feature i think it would be cool to have our names on our plane right below the canopy window just like in real life..also for squad memebers it may have ur rank on there also...just an opinion

customizable paint job... holy lord... you guys are talking about one for each plane for each player... Well... if HTC can find a way to inscribe your CPID under the canopy that might be interesting... but a plane skin for each plane for each player might be too much to ask for.
customizable guns, we have it for fighters, would be a good addition for bombers.
Hanger list is a good idea :)

I still think the best idea in this regard would be to have two or three different skins for each ride, created by HTC, and selectable in the hangar. It would create more variety, but eliminate the possibility of hot pink planes, and avoid the problems with having to load tons of custom skins.

In the MMORPG "Dark Age of Camelot" there is a number of cloak colors as well as a number of emblems to emblazen them with. Any given individual can pick a cloak color at any time. However only a guild, after laying down some serious gold, can emblazen.
Might the same idea be applied to AH as well? Here is how it might work: For the moment, pretend that AH has the personnel to create a number of basic paint schemes for each aircraft (Ex. yellow nose 109, red nose 109, plain nose 109, yellow nose with red spinner 109, red nose with yellow spinner 109 and so forth).
Anyone can pick a basic paint scheme at any time. In addition to these basic paint schemes are a series of squadron emblems that can be added by any squadron that pays X number of perks. Once this is done, that combination of basic scheme and emblem can't be duplicated by another squad from that country.
This way a squadron emblem becomes a badge of honor that sets a squadron apart while allowing individuals some degree of customization.

HFmudd you cannot have that gun they have to be feasible and possibly happened in ww2 (according to nod2000 jay zeemer put a 75MM in the nose of his 26)
and as for the paint set it up so yuo have the desert paint(so you dont stick out like a oasis in a desert map) and that sorta thing of course trying to camouflauge our planes is pretty pointless cause we have the little icons abo0ve our planes we might as well all be neon pink.

Don't you think HTC could have better things to do than colour few planes so they would fit to the color of your bag?

sure they could add more planes and make the modelling of older planes better...add thr 29 with a nuke (OOOOOOOOOOHHH THAT WOULD BE SMART ) :rolleyes: they could make a program to stop all whiners from posting and mute anyone that mentions unfair...they could add a giant mountain troll that you have to kill for 500 perks...they could add the spit 2 and 3 they could actually come see what happens out in the hth and add some stuff we want...they could make a better terrain editor...they could do al sorts of things but they dont so stop ur complaining

I will fly bombers more, specifically the B-17, I get my bombing fix now from B-17 The Mighty Eighth where I got my own bomber nose art. Now my squads nose art is pretty cool, but there is nothing like proper nose art for a bomber(though of course a few strategic extra dabs of paint would be in order:( ) Nose art for bombers would be a cool idea but would take to much extra work and frame rate. Maybe sometime later one can hope

(37mm for Il-2 would be cool BTW)
do you mean like getting to choose between Rebel or Imperial turbolasers? I'd like to have the green ones come to think of it.
