Title: someone can explain me the ranking system pls?

How can I be 28 overall whenmy best is 44? Is that because the sum of all divided by 4 compared to the others, gives me the 28?

Like if someone is ranked 1, 1, 1 and 2000 he will be way behind me?

No tricks, just looked at the scores and was wondering.

Yes, Frenchy your correct.  Personally I only worry about fighter rank. Overall rank is meaningless unless you are actively trying to be the best "overall".  I suck at bomber missions so therefore my bomber score will be bad. I hardly ever do a boat mission so that will be bad too. If you fly fighters, then worry about fighters. If you like to ground attack, be sure to change your mission scoring to ATTACK in the hanger, that way your mission will be scored for the attack rating.

Thx Fscott. The "attack" I always forget about it, as it always go back on "fighter".

Still it isnt clear exactly how the all important points is generated.And needless to say I dont like the system: roughly the more you fly the better the rank.
