Title: Buff Pilots Get Your Jollies Right Here
Post by: Beegerite on August 31, 2000, 12:06:00 AM
To those of you who enjoy flying the B-17, check out this link to a video clip of the real thing!  The B-17 pictured is the Nine o Nine which has been restored by the Collings Foundation.  They've done a hell of a job.  I captured this video at the Lancaster, Pa. airport on Aug. 27th 2000
Enjoy

yup, she's a sweet bird.  They were at Groton/New London airport a couple years ago and I went and climbed through both thier B-17 and the B-24 they had on display.  The insides of those birds are CRAMPED!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

You can check the Collings Foundation website and see the planned schedule of the bird's appearences, and for a good chunk of change ($300/person if memory serves) even take a ride on one of the birds.

And that's not the original Nine 'o Nine, thought it's been restored as the Nine 'o Nine.
