Thanks Cav , your info on "how to" change the spring pressure on couger got me thinking how I could change the feel on the f22 springs that I am using . They worked ok but were not bent at enough angle to hit both the spring stops , just a little free play .
I checked the orginal spings and they had a arch in them when placed on a flat surface . So I took the f22 springs which were almost flat and used your idea to make the spings have more arch , I did that outside the stick :)
Now they hit the stops like the orginal ones but with less pressure , will post the rest of the pics below .
Here's the spring pic , with the corrected arch .

Spring change .
You need a 2.5 mm Hex key
5 mm socket
small philps head screwdriver .
It's really quite easy , I have done it three times now :) took 15 mins last time even with taking pics .

Now when the stick is held on it's side the handle will move about half way off center . Before it didn't move at all off center .
If I got Cav's post right his with the mod orginal springs goes all the way off center , to the stop ?

Flip the throttle over on a towel and slide the handle into toward the far side of your desk .
There's eight screws to take out .

I removed the click altogether on mine .

Yes Spro mine will just make the stops when held on its side as in your pic, BUT i have the rubber boot removed as well at the moment, this was my first try to cure the problem.
You will note in your pic that the locking ring for the handle is contacting the rubber boot at halfway deflection which may be stopping your stick from full movement in that test.
Btw how do you like it now, do you feel the mod has improved the feel and controllability of the stick ?
Or are you beginning to feel even with that huge hairy hand of yours in that pic, that we must both be girls as we obviously are too weak to move the stick unlike all those men who bought em :)
To be honest i give up now trying to convince em its a controllability issue, all that happens is their hormones kick in they stick there chest out, stamp their feet and declare hell i can move it ok !
I find controllability at the break point especially if passing through it is much improved with weaker springs, let me know how your getting on with it.

As you well know , it's really not how hard they push or pull but how they interact when moving through the center point . When coming off one side of the sping to the other etc .
That said it's better but if I check my Satek x36 it's much smoother going through the center . But they don't make it anymore and the x45 center sping don't get it for me either and through in the cheap hats , not again .
OK this works better now but here's really a nicest stick I ever used "just in Ace's High" >
The USB Microsoft Force Feedback 2 . You should try this one Cav , there's no spring at all , the center postion is controled by motor etc , great feel with HT's great coding of FFB . The move through the center is no differant than anyother spot , just less pull pressure , more as you pull and shake that makes you stop before you stall :) It's really got a great feel . guard told me about it first and he's was so right .
But only 4 loving buttons that you can reach if using a throttle . I should have just kept on using it I guess . I thought at the time that I wanted to get rid of SGE .
A USB CH Pro Throtte with FFB2 and USB CH Pro Pedals would be the best combo for AH . Well at least for us "weak" armed guys , hehe .
I don't plan on taking the cougar back though , the programing is excellent .
hehe , at 5 , 11 and 290 lbs , I ain't really what you call small either :D
Edit > I just reread my post and am going to take my own advice . It's going back asap . :D
