Title: Guns Overheating
Post by: Virage on June 11, 2002, 09:01:20 PM
... if sprayed too long is a feature I would like to see.  Guns stop if overheated, but will come back after a cool down period.

This would add the element of wwII gunnery to the sim while maintaining gameplay.

And more dispersion and definitive gun deformation under prolonged fire.

...and remove counter of bullets. At WW 2 only german planes had a graphic counter of armament.

Don't forget about overheated engines, if you are engaging full throttle for too long,
or pilots exhaustion after pulling too much G's.

You really want it realistic???
You are in the wrong game.

And pilot repulsion when entering into a Spit cockpit :D

I wouldn't mind ammo counters being removed. Many Allied pilots (USAAF and US Navy anyway)  had a string of tracers added in towards the end of the ammunition belts that would give them a visual clue that they were almost out.

Add in metric gauges, remove in-flight adjustable trim on planes that did not have them and remove the auto-retracting flaps on all aircraft.

 please :)

...and remove Auto Pilot from planes that didn't have it.

Thank you.   :)

Oh.... and remove GPS,  AWACS, Combat Trim, and Auto Takeoff from planes that didn't have them.

;)

And those gamey true airspeed indicators, 6 views and hit sprites for non HE rounds...

PS: and remove the beacon, too! :D

Realistic engine management would be nice...

...and auto speed should not work if you are wounded.

...and I would also love to see pilot wound effects that are a little more diverse than the two ("dead" and "dizzy") we have now.

...and it would be immersive if the cockpit instrumentation could take damage.

...oil spray on the glass would also add alot.

Once you take off, you should have to fly for a couple hours. If you log, get shot down or just go AFK your account should be cancelled for six months.

Then they should model the relief tube freezing shut on high altitude flights. So when you pee into the funnel under your computer desk, it should overflow and soak your leg.

That would be true REALISM! Yeah, Baby! That would really set this sim apart.

That is the best idea I've ever seen to get rid off 99% of bishorcs in less than two hours :D :D

This is incorrect.  Page 585 in AHT has a picture of the ammunition counter in the F6F if you want to see it.

żAHT=American Hundred...book?

I  always have read that the allied pilots counted the armament mentally and never see photos of no-german planes of WW 2 with ammo counter.

Real tracers, like Kwest suggests,  would be nice.

Straffo,  I am not  Supongo, I am younger and stronger. Ccvi  responded you about trim.
