I have a quick question. do some planes carry a set amount of WEP or are some unlimited. I've noticed engine temp seems to be the limiting factor to WEPing.
Also, does throttle setting affect fuel consumption? At lower setting you should use less fuel, this modeled in game?
Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks,

Undeath,
Engine temp is what AH uses to limit WEP. Some planes' engines heat very slowly, though. The 109 comes to mind.
I haven't done any testing on fuel consumption rates at lower manifold pressures. Let's face it, we all fly at full throttle 99% of the time.

Fuel consumption is modeled in the aircraft.
try experimenting with lower RPM's and manifold settings to get the best fuel economy when cruising for different planes.

I did some testing for my favorite planes' fuel consumption rate with 100% and 66% throttle.
this usually yields a 1.4:1 ratio in the fuel consumptiom betwin the 2 states, but it veries from plane to plane (in the dora it was near 1.7:1)
never completed the test, but the results I did get are here:

Thanks for the responses. I had no idea eng temp limited WEP. I always assumed that there was a finite amount of WEP.
Now all I need is an Intercooler for my engines :)
