Title: Damage Model of Objects
Post by: Duedel on June 14, 2002, 06:06:39 AM
As it is now object are either destroyed or not (yes i know HiTech likes the binary mode :D). Could it be a little bit more "analog".  I would like to see bullet holes, damaged structures ... this would add immersion.

BTW Never saw a house that explodes like houses explode in AH. Would be cooler (IMO) if they simply collapse with a little dust.

Asked for this for a LONG time now and I agree to 100%. The dammage modelling in AH is (have been for some time) getting quite outdated and something more detalied is needed.

A few months ago HiTehc mentioned in MA, he was going to refine the damage model, some of it cosmetic, some of it refining the damage done to a location.

Sorry no additional details.

yep - seems to me that he fixed the placement of damage to the correct location that it was hit - ie now if they hit your elevator - it will instead of your aileron - but damage modelling does need to be looked at -

I will admit that it would be a very large undertaking for HTC to remodel every single object in the game - but if you have played Il-2, then you know how damage modelling can improve gameplay.

Sorry guys i think u misunderstood me (my fault bad english).
I don't ask for improvements regarding the DM of planes. I ask for improvements regarding the visual damage of buildings (obejcts). looks to gamey for me. :)
