Just wondered who has remained with their original country and for how long?
I personally have been a Bish since early beta, with the exception of the Rook experiment by my squad, which was for a predetermined two week period only.
-
Cutthroats have been flying rooks for as long as I can remember... I've been in for about 1 1/2 years as rook. Its that underdog thing :D
-
My squad, EFW-SOG's have always been Knights...
-
Been a nit since Afrika Korps.

-
Rookland since I signed on AH last May save for one stint that some of the 412th went bish in place of a SEA event. Hehe, felt dirty doing that *cough* *cough*.
Tango, XO
412th FS Braunco Mustangs
-
Knit since beta tour 1, although I really didn't start flying much till tour 5.
F.
-
Been bish since I started following bash and torque around picking up scraps.
-
Born Bish Sept. 99
-
ROOK.
-
I'm American, been my whole life;)
-
ROOK since day 1.
-
I was Rook for 3 weeks in Beta, then I switched to knights with JG2. About 1 year later, our squadron (JG2) decided to do some "Country Touring" that lasted about 1 week and it was an internal disaster that ended up breaking the squad up. Knights for for 99.9% of AH life.
-
Nightmares formed an official squad in AH in January 2001 (1/01) in Rookland. The squad has flown Rook since its inception in AH and has no plans to tour or switch.
As for myself I not sure what country I was placed into when I first opened my account but I changed to Rook that same day so I have been flying Rook since April 2001 (so year +2 months as Rook for me).
-
The MOL has been Rook for weeks now. We'll probably stay until they get tired of asking us to leave.
-
Been I knight since the beta ended (with few cases where I have changed to rook to even out numbers).
-
No comment. Only changed once.
-
Been bish since i joined AH during tour22.
-
I've been Bishop since Tour 1.
I did try both Knight and Rook in the beginning but found the Bishops more cooperative and friendlier so I've stayed there ever since! :)
Hey Rude, it just reminded me that you invited me to the 13th TAS after I'd only been flying online for about 2 or 3 weeks! :) Good times! :)

To be honest it would be one change.
When I first flew AH was during the Beta. BulletHead was the first of the Cactus Air Force (CAF) to arrive and was Knight at that time. So we all logged on as Knight. Then a few of us stayed with AH and some of us stuck with that "other" flight sim. Then in early 2001 we made the move as a group to AH. We flew knights for a couple tours.
Then we decided to change to Rooks, Most of our old B-land friends where stationed in Rookville and some of our favorite advisarys too. The Squads we used to work Joint ops with were now Rook, So it was an easy fit. We started doing Joint stuff right away.
Since we changed to Rook, We have never changed and probably never will. I expect to fly Rook as long as I spend my time here.
The only sadness is Vati66s flying circus is Bishop and we never get to fly together. Vati is an old member of the CAF and It would be good to fly together again sometime.
-
Bishops since Kraits officially transferred here from AW in April last year. :D
-
LJK has been knits all along, aside from a couple of us checking out the game initially as bishops, since that was the default country...
-
Rgr that Nexx....and we still miss ya:)
-
fatty....did you hear that!? we can change countries!!!!
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
-
BISH since day one, never even thought of changing.
must be damn close to 2 years now.
i will only change if my squad decides to rotate...snowball...hell...yo u get the picture
-
The squad I'm in sent a few pilots in to AH to see if they liked it before we moved over as a squad. When we did move we stayed bish. There was talk of moving to the knits since thats where we heard most of the CZ from AW had gone, but at the time the knits were totally outnumbering the rest of the countries so we decided to stay bish.
-
Kniggit for 100.00% of the time since i started flying two years ago. I was with JG2 when they went country touring. I didnt follow and somehow JG2 coming apart at the seams was blamed on me :)

Heh, you followed, then left after a couple days...then I even gave you an invite into VMF-323(Rip bangs head against wall saying "DOH DOH DOH") :) Ahh well, the gun powder was already present, we just needed a match to ignite it, thanks War...I think! :D (Just kidding bud)

Bish since beta.. whatever beta tour corresponds to oct. 99. Made a single, lone forray into knight one night when I got frustrated with rook numbers. Back then, rooks had numbers plus some good sticks (mitsu, fishu, etc.) and mass attacks had a lot of momentum. The knights usually numbered under 5 ppl and were left alone for the most part. Became a knight for I think a sortie and left having lost nothing yet achieved nothing.
"Nostalgia:" the beta terrain, the volcano, A1, the hill bases, the old g-10, folks like torque, bash, packrat, wardog, hollywd (way before I joined my current squad and almost an eternity since I've joined my first squad).

Rooks for two weeks? Some experiment. How did it go? :p
412th current country affiliation - (http://www.brauncomustangs.org/GIFs/rook.gif)
Been Rook since 04/12/2001 - Plan on staying Rook
Being in one country doesn't mean as much as it did in AW, where fields had names and you were always on the same side of the map. Numbered bases and different map positions all the time take away from any sense of patriotism one might get.
The Nightmares can tell you, there have been some classic funny stories derived from the A,B,Cs of AW.
-
Knight since day one (which for me was December 9th 2001) And I have yet to earn 15 perks for a country win... Either I'm online at the wrong time all the time, or we knits suck bellybutton when it comes to teamwork and base captures (ok, it COULD be a combination of both) but I'm never gonna switch.
-
Apart from some vacations, I've lived in finland all my life. :D
-
I went to TJ about 25 times and to Montreal twice. Otherwise I've never been out of the good ole U.S. of A.
-
I have been loyal to Green from the start. I will NEVER switch to Red!

Dont care for switching sides, was an Az FOREVER in AW AND I'm an Auburn fan living in Alabama.......thats like being a Jew living in Meca

-
Bish since tour 3 :)
-
Started out as Rook in tour 7, then fully switched to Knight during tour 14. Been Knight ever since. I have visited the squeakes a few times but I really dont like that place, the smell of filth is overpowering. :)
-
American by birth.
Southern by the Grace of God!
Damm someone beat me to it
I have been a knight since the first hour when the default signed me on as a bish. Never thought about changing countries till 3 nights ago when a bunch of stupit knights, led by a bish defector, were trying to reset rooks while the rest of knightland were trying to steal reset. I wanted to switch long enuff to kick thier arses
I hear somefolks say country loyalty is stupid, to me its like rooting for the home team, you dont just change. I wish when you switched countries you counldnt come back unless you were voted back in ;)
-
RL = Finland (and staying)
AH = Rook about 1 year (and staying)
Couple of times accidentally found myself as a bish but changed back asap.
-
Notice no AK's have replied yet??????
CharlieB
-
Been a Nit since day 1. I think I've been indoctrinated with too much propaganda to switch now.

Since my squad got off the boat in October, the 479th has been flying for the Knitwits. Probably will stay with Knitwitland as most of our former AW refugee buddies we flew with in Czland are also Knitwits.

MAW are Knights , we ain't no damn rotaters and never wil be. Although we are glad to see the Assassin came to their sences and switched to Knights
I still can't understand why AK's avoid Knighland other than they feel out classed ( that is just a joke BTW)
AK's on their TOD performance

The Skeleton Crew Squadron is a Rook Squadron. We havent changed sides at any time.
(Not that im always happy with that :p )

I have no emotional attatchment to virtual and fictitous countries in video games; I'll change country at the drop of a hat . If I log in and I have a hankerin for some cv ops and the country I'm currently with has no carrier group I'll change, viola .
-
What Suave said!.
To have "fidelities" to a virtual country in a game is low-minded.
You may have fidelities to your friend or squad-mates but this is a different matter.
Besides, who do not change country is like the people who never travel and live looking his belly as unique world.
Hey, THIS IS A GAME!

I've been a Knight since...since...well, FOREVER...
The only exception was one day when a CTD somehow
put me in Bishland and I didn't discover that until I had
flown two sorties...at which time I promptly augered,
took a shower, vacuumed my keyboard and brought in
an exorcist for a day... :)
-
Been a Son A Bishee since beta and will remain one.
-
started bish tried to get perks 1 time when knights won a reset yeah i'm a cheap bastage :D but during my time as a knight i only fought rooks ;) couldn't wait to get back to bishops
-
JG2 formally JV44 are knights and plan on staying knights until we die. We started out as knights, then switched to rooks for i think less then a tour tried the Bish out for a little over a tour maybe less. Found ourselves back in knightland because it is more suited for our needs.
We will remain knights forever and that is all I can say. Because we are the pertiest.
-
Kniggit since day one. I started around tour 2-ish.....i think..
-
When I signed up, I was a bishop for about 1 week, since that was default country for me. However, at the time, bishops were just not cooperating, and when people put missions up, many times I was the only one to join, so I decided to switch to the Knights. It seemed to me after a week of playing that they had the most loyalty and teamwork of the 3 sides. I switched, and havent looked back since. Been flying Knights for over a year now. Got a little frustrated a month or two ago when it seemed like we couldnt win a reset no matter how hard we tried, but I couldnt bring myself to switch teams just because times were hard. I think that the knights have the tightest team going. Just look at how many people in this thread have professed their loyalty to the knights compared to how many have done so for the bishops (19 for knights, 14 bish, 14 rook at the time of this post if I counted correctly). Go Knights!
-
I've only been signed up for about 9 months now and have remained Rook since the start with no intention of ever changing.
ROOKS!!! :-)

-
Me and my squad have been and will stay Rooks.
-

Pssssst...... it's 25 perks - on each category! - for a country win! ;) (Got 25 on each again last night when Bishops won reset in NDIsles about 5 minutes after I logged in! :D)

Been flying Bish ever since Hajo told me the game existed.Ive been with the Flying Circus since day 2 in AH.We talked about going to another country for a change of scenery but it looked like it would break the squad up so we didnt do it.January 2001 and STILL only going diagonaly
