Try JB Qwikweld. Sets in a few minutes. You can use fiberglass matting with the epoxy for super reinforcement.
How did it break? Hehe, don't tell me you're one of those super competitive types that slams or throws their stuff after losing a dogfight ;) .

Guess it didn't occur to alot of people that trippling the weight of the controller could have some adverse effects. That must have landed just right (right on the handle).
Have you talked to Thrustmaster about it yet?

bummer.
neeener neener neener. I've drop kicked my CH gear... never had any of it break... even after 70 years of abuse. Granpa thought it was expensive, I figure quality is timeless... and expect to pass it on to my grandson when i pass on...

well, I've sent them an email, let's see what happens. Some people on their BB are really bithing about them being un-responsive.
The throtlle was sitting on a couch. I accidentally pushed it on the floor and as you said. It landed right on a tip of the handle.
Still, crappy design. The plastic inside of the handle has a large, rectangular opening to feed the ribbon cable through. A very bad design.

That metal looks really brittle now that I see it broken...

Well, I've never dropped kicked my CH Combatstick, but it has certainly had its share of abuse. The only thing I've had to replace are the little metal disks inside the base that record the movement of the stick - CH sent me a couple of replacements for free. I just unscrewed the bottom, slipped out the disk, inserted the new ones, screwed it back together, and continued to run my Air Warrior operations (yes, its that old).

To be fair on the other side, I'm a bit disapointed with the latest in the CH USB series.
First of all, the programming template is off 90 deg for the throttle hat cluster, which is confusing (I got an early throttle, so I don't know if its been corrected). Also, the USB software is a step or two down from the old Speedkeys in ease of use (a lot of obscure text requiirements).
Secondly, my USB combat stick started to go bad (push a button and then push the stick to the right and it would cancel the button action out as it passed o deg.). After convincing tech support (which is responsive btw) that it was not one of the many Via MB issues which I am aware of (been doing the old computer part swap deal for 14 years now and just built/rebuilt 4 systems for my household LAN) I mailed it back many months after purchase and for $6 S/H got it repaired. Good service in the end, as always, and I still like CH, but they seem to be slipping like most companies these days.

What were you doing with your throttle on the couch?
I think now is a good time to remind people... Its OK to love your Cougar... just don't LOVE your Cougar.

Why in the world did they make it out of cast metal in the first place ? Isn't plastic cheaper and stronger, and cheaper to ship ? Or is it a fireproofing issue ?
Anyway that sucks, I hope it doesn't take very long for them to replace it for you .

That piece that is broken isn't metal. It's the structural arm holding the throttle handle up and, for a reason that escapes me completely, Guillemot decided to make it out of plastic. Still fine for supporting the weight of the throttle handle and the pressure from your hand...not so good for dropping upside-down on the floor. That drop wouldn't have phased a TQS, but the TQS weighs less than Funked's 'lil noodle! :p
