Title: how to become gunner?

Hi,

I'm new here

How would I request a gunner position on a bomber?

Also do bombers have "otto"/ automatic guns?

Welcome Jpeg  :)

There are is no Otto for planes in AH like there are in WB, you have two options when you fly a buff. 1: You can gun your self and aim all guns at the same time. 2: You can have another guy who gun for you, of course, you can be that guy for someone else. There can not be 2 gunners at the same time.

To become a gunner, you open text buffer (where you type to other people) and type .join NAME
Don't fotget the DOT.

If you wanna join me when I am flying a bomber you type .join Wilbus

No.  It is also considered rude to send a join request without asking permission first.

What I reccomend is that you ask if any bombers want a gunner, or if anybody wants to gun your bomber.  But don't ask too frequently. Spamming the text buffer will actually probably make it less likely that somebody will take you up on your offer.

If you don't get a response, fly a mission alone.  Then ask again ince the mission is over.

Isn't there a join button either on the clipboard or in the maproom that lists pilots flying bombers?  I'd have to look, but I think its there.  Still, ask pilot first.  Good luck.

hmm, I accepted a bomber gunner the other day while flying a lanc.  He then proceeded to shoot off all the ammo on the way to target and then once over the target he decided to alt-f4 cause he was going to bed?  I got shot down obviously.  


Some things not to do whilst gunning for someone.

Found it.  Go to the hangar and click the join button.

This explains the three join requests I received while chasing an FW with a Jug. That really messes with your gunnery I can tell you!   :rolleyes:
