I am sure you guys will laugh at this one...
I only had like 19 Perk points, but decided I would use 8 of them to up in an F4C...I taxied out of the hanger at an airfield and headed for the tarmac for takeoff. The only problem was that my taxi speed was way too high and my son distracted me at a crucial time...the result...I DITCHED the damn thing at the airfield....
SIGH.............
As Beck said "I'm a loser baby...so why don't you kill me!"
-
Oh yeah? Well I taxied a 262 right into a hangar wall!
Damn cat walked over my rudder pedals when I was taking off... side slip, lost all horizontal stability, hangar wall, "oh sh*t, stupid furbag!", sound of cat flying across the room into the door.
Atleast she suffered equal pain she gave me. :)

can't tell you the number of times I've fubar'd a 262 into oblivion...
that I can remember:
one was a naked GF.. worth the 200 perkies
two were disco's
one was simply my dumb-ass running out of gas and ditching, only to have the allies capture it and disect it...
it happens

hehe i had few funny acident
i was landed tempest and i sit down on fuel tank...

nothin beats what happened to me and hblair. we had 262's ready for take off. our only problem was that the field was in a valley. we roll, we lift off, then we smack the vally walls and break all of our gears :( then we spend the next half an hour trying to get the thing to turn around so we can slowly power it back to the runway for a successful landing. didnt work...somebody came in and strafed us both :( 200 perkies down the tubes
-
hahah Great stories...I don't feel so stupid now!
-
LOL.. :)
I finally accrued enough points for a 262..took about a month and a half or more. Didn't want to lose it the first sortie so I went up high and cruised around, looking for bombers inbound to knight fields.
Then I spotted a B26 a few thousand feet lower, proceeded to dive abit to pick up speed :) locked up the controls and ran into the back of said B26. :D
Doh!! Oh Well, what's another couple months. :p

When the Arado first came out I augered two on takeoff. Damn 120 perks gone.
8 perks for a F4c cheap.
-
Well I collided with a danged chute in 262 today.
Which begs the question:
How the shreck does a linen parachute disintegrate a blimey 262 for crying out really bloody loudly!!!!!!
Anyhow, i'm back to 100 danged perkies.
Zygote.
:D

My first Arado flight ended when I dropped the eggs instead of using RATOs on takeoff. Oh ya...in probably my second 262 flight I was typing something to a squad member & didn't realize I hit <ENTER><ENTER><ENTER>
Imagine the suprise!!!!

One night decided I would take up a Tempest, I had just enough points. Got tangled up in a mini furball, got one plane and lost a wing tip and a fuel leak. Nurse the Tempest to the nearest field and landed just as the gas ran out. Was strung out on that one so I took a little break and get a drink. Came back and then I figure I'll take a Typhoon and go back to the same field and work over the ack.
Check the hanger load some rockets and take off. After a 5min flight I am the field, line up on the first ack emplacement, and go into a gentle dive. I do a last minute ammo check to select my rockets and notice that the ammo counter says 300 not 280, ??...major puzzlement, why I ask myself does my typhoon have 300 rounds instead of 280. As the ack starts firing at me I realize I am still in the Tempest, bang I'm dead
Oh the agony

Some poor fool lost a 262 to a "parked" sheep that belonged to a con attendee  That's got to be the worst :)
-
Oh, I really want to use my perks to something.. say P-47M! Bring it on!!

I got the F4C up. Went to defend a CV from these bogeys. When I got there, all the bastards completely ignored the CV and started chasing me. It was like I was a big magnet. I was trying to run away but there were too many.
Can people tell if you are flying a perked F4?

Back when the arado ratos did damage, I was in a big arado HQ raid. Probably 6 or 8 of us all rolling down the same runway. So I get in the air and the ratos have run out. I was looking out the back as they jettisoned and smacked into they guy right behind me, killshootering my wing off.

I don't believe they can FDSS. Should just show same as dhog.

One time I accidently took off with 25% fuel. I flew to a forward airbase under heavy attack. I shot down an N1k then my engines flamed out. Set up for an extremely short final and some crazy P51 mustang came down and strafed me.
-
Lol fdiron, that crazy p51 was me <S>. Saw your 262 coming towards the field, thought I'd see if I could manuever for a shot. Swung around behind you and almost shat myself when I saw how quickly I was closing on you. Cut throttle, turned to slow myself down, got lucky and made the shot.
Some guy upped a 262 from a capped base about a month ago, got him on take off. As if that wasn't goofy enough, he ups another 262 from a nearby base, and comes back to exact revenge on me. The guy came in very fast, deliberately picking my Dora out of the furball -- I turned around just enough to catch him in a HO, he missed and I didn't :).

ive blown a few 262s this tour to collisions. only been shot down twice in them
i was having a grand time at the con - was harrassing all those prop fighters when i get bounced by two 262s.
with some of the FDBs behind me telling me how feked I was , i ran like hell with both enemy jets anywhere from d200 - d600. i dunno how i got out of it but i was saying my prayers after that one. they musta chased me two sectors in mindano valleys and mountains. it was crazy.
i think one of the pilots was Kieran, but i could be wrong.

F4U-4 shows as "F4U4"
F4U-1C has an all blue nose, F4U-1D has a yellow band on the nose so it's pretty obvious when you get in visual range.
