Hi all
Yesterday evening Knights (Steve74) launched a "FW 190 Fighter Sweep Mission" of about 12 players, among them where Steve74, Hazed, Saw and many others. This mission included players of different squadrons, like JG2, JG54 and our JG26.
This Fighter Sweep worked very effective like a close working
"wulfpack" and got me to think about a Idea or Project which is maybe worth to discuss about ....
the idea ..." to build and maintain a Combat Force consisting of
several individual and independent squadrons "
with the goals of:
create and maintain a Combat Force on Knights side, which has a avareness strong enough to stick together and strike quick and effective on incoming (Bish) Mission. ofcourse it's impossible that all participiants
will be online at the same time, but at least there will be a nice quantity of us available who would be ready to fit together when called to strike back or to intercept.
runing more frequently missions with a decent number of players (mission culture) which used to fly together.
by having available a common Combat Force "Community Webpage and Messageboard", sharing common interests and information.
keeping the squadrons individuality ( there is basicly no need tofit all interested players into a big squadron ). in other words, the interested squadrons continue to have their own homepage and their players.
having a Comabt Force "Messageboard" ... equal the AH BBS one for issues like "Tactics, Training and common interests arround Hard- and Software etc".
and finally to have a bit more fun by acting as a closer team.
what i can provide on that Idea is:
providing the webspace and the visual realisation of the homepage (similar like this) http://www.me109.net

Shortly before i've got assimilated by a LA-7 i posted that spontaneous Projet Idea on the chat bar, and the response was quiet positive. Meanwhile i tried to sort out how that could be done from the point of view of the potentially involved squadrons and the webpage. I would like to show you a possible "draft" what shows in a visual way what i mean.

I know that the idea of creating a community (subcomunit like this) sounds maybe naive. It's quiet a big job, but it's at least worth to think about.
OK ... now i would like to know if your are basicly interested on something like that for the Knights or not and on what help i could count on.

We had something like this in AW
It was called Airboss, it worked very well. Just getting squadrons working together will be a force to rekon with.

That 190 sweep was one of the most fun missions I have ever flown in the MA (Thanks all you guys who flew in it, you know who you are).
I think this is a great idea, and we should definitively try to do something with it.

thanks for the feedback. i'll wait some more feedbacks and then start to do that thing. whatever .. i think it's worth to try it and to set some rules and duties to keep it running.
as far i can see KG1 "Edelweiss" iand JG2 could be part of the game .. thanks for that.

JG54 is temporarily inactive in Aces High (Everyone's working on his degree or something simillar). But I'm all for it, personally :)

Great idea, sounds very much like the KAG project that kinda groundlooped on take off last year.
I, and the rest of KG200 would definately be interested, depending on what time of day such a unit would run Ops.

I think your fighter sweep is a great idea, too! I would join you but I am not in your country!:(
All in all it sound like it may be good for teamplay! If your idea is implemented perhaps it will push the other countries to evolve strategies to defeat your fighter sweeps, thereby generating more cooperation between players!

I was also thinking that i would be a cool idea to have specialized groups within in a squad (subsquad? sorry, i don't know the breakdown of ranks in air forces...) or consisting of squads. Each group would be assigned a major duty for that time in MA. Squad A would fly the bombers, Squad B and C fighters, Squad Y jabos, Squad Z goons... But this would take discipline, coordination, and planning and it looks like most folks just fly to have a good time in the MA. Perhaps in the CT?

one message above mention the fact that not everybody lives in the same region. the fact that we have a timedifference isn't the key problem and there is no need, that everybody is online at the same time ... sure it would be great but it's simply impossible.
the point on all that is, that we should form a awareness to act together with more less the same people for mission, sharing infos. etc. and build up a stronger front against our loved enemies and get a bit more dynamic into the mission business.
i know that Fariz is gonna love me for that now ... but he managed to form up a community arround bish, that fits together when he or one of his fellows call for a mission ... and you see the result on the game .... they work pretty good. all my respect for your Fariz.
what concerns the mission ... all of us are called to get more active on making them. the best way is to create some of them offline and have them ready to call up on your pc when needed. i think we could post some of them by category on the furture messageboard, so everybody has the chance to get into that stuff.
and the entire story cant be kept of by a single persion ... all of us need to take a part of the initiative.
about the planes ... basicly its a call for LW squadrons, but its all open for non LW squads as well. all kind of planes are ok in here.
well .. gimme a bit of time to stick up that messageboard and change the webpage a bit and then we can start step by step.

I think we can help to hit bishes! Lately I havent had even time to fight vs knits because Bishops are pushing so hard.
ooops.. is this knitrook alliance now.. :o :D Propably people in rookland demand me to jump to knits for this. :D

airmess i really appreciate ur work and ur idea! Let me know if u need support regarding the programming of the Website or graphical issues.
In a previous thread the question came up to have something like an Über-Squad which is an organizational unit hierarchical on top of the squad. HiTech mentioned (in hte chat) that they are thinking about to integrate this in AH.
BTW did someone know a good website where i can make a forum for my squad?

I'm the liason officer for 3./JG2 for this new Jagdverband.
We should probably try to meet online or something and have a talk about this.
Also, might I suggest that the other squads interested in joining appoint one person to handle all contacts with this new unit for now. At least until we can start getting things organized.

Hi all
First of all " ... wow ...". I didn't suspect such a positive response on all that. So lets start with it ... and "Step by Step" we gonna see the success.
The first step is done. I opened a section called "Strike Force" on our Abbeville Kids messageboard. This section is set strictly to registred and autorized members of this community what means, ...
Thats you have to register first on the messageboard and i will give you the read and write rights as soon as i've got the ticket.
At least we have a plattform we can work on that project unobserved now.
About the squadrons and members on that project ... it's not only a exclusive LW corner. Goal of all this is to build a stronghold
against our lovely enemies the "Bish" ... therefore only Knights are welcome on that.
And hey Rooks .... if this whole thing works, it could be a good model for you as well.
Well ... more on that we can talk on the Messageboard. I wouldn't give up the advantage in here to our "friends".
