I'd like to suggest that the Vehicle Supplies be modified so that they can work on airplanes as well. This would add an extra element to the gameplay of being able to set up (and resupply) temporary airbases near current targets.
Imagine, if you will, a battle that involves finding a clearing near the top of a mountain, dropping supplies (and stationing your C-47 there as a beacon), then watching your teammates (some smoking, many low on fuel and ammo) come limping into the makeshift airfield, resupping, and taking off again to rejoin the fight.
Stuff like this happened in WWII, it'd be an exciting aspect of AH play too.

Hey! Cool idea! Wonder what HT thinks about it?

The idea has merit. I think you'd want to limit somewhat the level of repair and rearm, though. For instance, I'd allow fuel and gun ammo, but no rockets and bombs. In terms of repair, I'd allow the FARP (Forward Arming and Refueling Point) to repair non-structural damage such as fuel/coolent/oil leaks, but not missing airplane parts or seized engines (such as caused by lack of coolent or oil). It should be a separate load-out option (FARP Pack) from base supplies. I also think it would be cool if, instead of requiring the dropping person to remain there, when you drop the supplies a camo-net hanger with a flag on it appears. It remains in place for 30 minutes, and requires you to land and pull inside the net hanger and stop to re-arm/repair. The camo-net hanger would be a destroyable object, so an enemy could bomb it to prevent you from using it. If you deploy one of these by M-3, you could of course stick by it and try to defend it with your 30-cal :).

The idea of a temporary net hangar is great, but even if it just worked the way GV supplies worked at first, that'd be a good start. There are days when I'm not in the mood to spend 45 minutes working my way to a target in a buff or zipping around in a fighter demonstrating my less then fearsome skills. These days, I still want to help my team in some sort of support role, but the C-47 has really been de-emphasized lately in terms of what it can do for resupping a field, so setting up forward air bases would be great fun.
It would also add value to patrols.
