Saw one guy get ejected due to some guy doing an amazing show of airborne ballet then collapse when he was grazed by, I think, the wind... Worse than a pick-up game of basketball in NYC.

Post by: Voss on June 21, 2002, 08:20:32 PM: THe air is very foul in Germany, so when these guys get out of their own country it's almost as if they're super-charged. Anyone from an area where the air is fresher will get tired more quickly, or even sick.

At least in that regard Germany sucks.

They do have some damn fine soccer players, though.

Ermm... who exactly? You don't watch much football, obviously.

I'd rate only Oliver Kahn and Ballack as world class, with maybe Hamann on a good day. The rest are journeymen. Even that Klose fella.

The US deserved to win. The Germans were poor, but lucky. They've had an extremely easy route to the semis.

Go Brazil!!

still lose everything in the quarter finals *G* :D

But ofcourse, Kahn is Nr.1 Goalkeeper in the world !

Post by: majic on June 22, 2002, 01:37:38 PM: That German goalkeeper was impressive. I'm pretty sure I would not want to run into him in a bar brawl. The reason the US lost IMO is all the dumb fouls down near their own goal. You give anyone that many chances and they'll come through. I'm not a very experienced soccer fan, but did it seem to anyone else that the US got impatient near the German goal alot? Instead of working the ball around they'd just dump it in and hope for the best?
