Title: GeForce4 Ti4400 crashing
Post by: BBMAW on June 22, 2002, 12:05:35 AM
I've tried the WHQL certified 29.42 and 29.41 detonator drivers for this new card and received the following error.

initialization failed with -5  mainSN_FAILED -2

This pop-up has an "OK" button, which sends you back to the desktop.

OpenGL apps show no problems

Chaintech Geforce4 Ti4400 w/ 128meg DDR
Win98SE with DirectX 8.1
VIA Kt133a chipset with latest 4in1 drivers installed
1gigahertz Athlon / 266FSB
512meg PC150 SDram

Anyone having similar problems and/or sollutions please share your experiences

Thanks to all...

Thats a problem with sound BB

Do you have a sound card installed? AH won't run without one.

you might have a bad geforce 4 ti 4400 card, i suggest giving it back and exchanging it. Alot of gf4ti cards where bad from the start since the companies cranked out way to many in a little bit of time.
