FesCAF asked me to post the link to DXTweak (http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm) so here it is.

DXTweak is a small program that will allow you to tweak the settings of your joystick, be it analog or USB, within DirectInput.  One of the features is adjusting the deadbands within DirectInput itself, as well as being able to fine tune your joystick calibration.  Even though these diagnostic programs were made for the Wingman Extreme, they will work on any DirectInput compatible joystick.
