Well,it happened.
WE played very well. In fact we won this match. A referee stole it.
THere was one possible penalty. Two clear goals who only the referee knows why didn't he give. There were doubtful offsides. Yellow cards for spain where to the korean ones was nothing at all. THere even was a corner in last second, wich the referee didn't call. Just in case we were to score a third goal, I guess.
Up to this moment when someone scored against korea, the referee let the goal go to the goal score. AT least noone said Vieri's goal was not. This time we were not even allowed this.
But, anyway and above everything there was a wonderful match smartly played by spain. There was sacrifice, there was will, there was a magnific game played by Spain. There was, also, bad luck...we lacked it where we had it against eire.
I said it: this match was to be won by us clearly. We had to dominate the koreans and let clear who was the best. We won it clearly. We let clear who was the best. We gave a good lesson of soccer and how to play a match. No matter someone stole it from us, this was (is) a victory for Spain.
Spain. I'm proud of you guys.
-
Absolutely strange: A totally regular goal of Spain was refused by the referree.
Its the 2nd time after the Italy-game that the referree supports S.Korea.
Now the germans have to solve this "problem" ;)
But a great compliment for Spain: They played a great championship and lost against the referree :(
-
PostData:
Germany ,you'd better play your best match against this team. If you count to pass with a match like the one you played against USA or Paraguay, you're completely done.
-
Well, I'm truly sorry if you think so, RAM.
Personally I think it was a great game, and the Spaniards were indeed very good, even more inspiring than the Italian team. Lot of heart skipping moments everywhere.
Of the 120 minutes played, luck was on the side of Korea - the ball hitting the post and venting out of Korean post was probably the most tragic moment for Spain in this game. The two 'goals' prior to that were clearly off side and a charging foul.
Probably Spain had better chance to win, and they showed clear dedication for victory. I admit that, and respect that. But in the end, skill and dedication both could not decide the winner, so luck jumped into action.
Better luck next tournament, Spain. Great game. I think Korea spent all the luck it had today, which was scheduled to be used over 10 years of time.
Spanish National Team
-
We have a very good situation:
We won against Paraguay and USA although we didnt played good.
So - how will be the result if the germans play good or normal ? :D :D :D :D
And we still have the best goalkeeper of the world OLIVER KAHN !!!!
He won the championsleague with Bayern Muenchen last year and in 5 games of this championship he only allowed 1 goal for the teams who where playing against us.
KAHN RULEZ !
:D :D :D

Offside? Foul?
I'm not gonna argue ,mate...there is no interpretation at all here. Both goals were valid, and stolen.
The first goal was not given God Knows Why. There was not illegal in that one. No foul. Nothing.
The other was not given because referee said the ball had ran out of the field, which CLEARLY (I mean: clearly) was not the case.
The ball hitting the posts was bad luck. Those two goals were stolen.
No more, no less :).
-
2 linesmen were just strange...
-
Its curious speaking of best luck in a match like this
Anyway welcome to Spain in the "you have to score 3 goals, to have one at least assigned" club.
Kahn & friends be on the advise.....
Spain , you did your best:)
-
I'm sorry to say this, but I think Spanish had 3 goals in this game at least.
Anyway next game would be an interesting game.

yah mitsu...in movement is even more scandalous :(
well, such is life...when someone steals you, you can't do nothing at all.
Better to leave the place with the head up and proud of what we've done and won by ourselfs. Even more proud that they had to STEAL us to kick our team out of the World Cup.
I feel it for Morientes. He scored 2 goals, both valid, not given, and sent 2 shots to the posts...poor boy, he was crying in impotence when the match ended :(
-
Out of field is awarded when:
1) The ball rolls itself completely out on the ground
2) The ball rolls itself completely out in the AIR
That situation is even in the LEAST a 'reasonable doubt'.
-
Perspective in the photo is fooling you, kweassa. In the second shot you put, the ball is already in the air and nearer from us that the point you're marking in the ground.
The ball is CLEARLY inside the field. there is no doubt, mate. In movement is seen even more clearly.

Thanks mitsu...Man, Joaquin is so GREAT a player :).
Movie shows it great. Goal was 100% legit.

oh LOL i think Korea gonna win WC
referee or not WTFG korea
great coach they have
:D
-
Strangely I find myself agreeing with RRAM 100% here :p
I think Korea had done really well to get to this point but here the dream should have ended, Spain played by far the better football and both goals were valid, perhaps the officials are more frightened of the crowd than anything else :(

hehehehe i knew there would be one of those here when i wake up :D
Spainish goal which you guys are argueing over, was scored after a whistle and flag going up, if you look carefully, goalie and defenders stoped playing. Hince it wasn't a goal, it was a chance :)
Spain simply ran out of juice in 60th minute, as simple as that.
They were kicking bellybutton till then, and should have scored at least twice. Had they done so, it would have been their game.
Now you boys can go and register at

This just in:
Spain play a decent side and lose.
That's all for now, folks.

I was astounded by this this affirmation, but then ive remembered your first one
hehehehe i knew there would be one of those here when i wake up
and all is clear : you were asleep during the match, ;) and maybe you are not wide awake yet :D :)
You cannot state they have failed two chance so they deserve to lose the match, this is not the way soccer goes on.
-
If I hadn't watched the entire match I wouldn't say this, but I think a linesman played a definitive role in Spain's defeat.
Hats off to Korea, now I want to see what's the next thing they are going to do to help them. :D

Referee playing as Striker for them, Cyrano...
is about the only thing the referees have not done for them. To score the goals for Korea themselves.

look at the picture. look at the background. the linesman is NOT on the end line. Plus both players are probably preventing a clear view of the ball.
I couldn't stay awake for this one, I tried but was falling asleep in the 15th minute, so I went to bed and was gone about the time I hit the pillow. So answer me this. Did the lineman's flag go up immediately? Or did he wave it AFTER the goal went in? If the flag went up immediately, then the linesman made a bad call and thought the ball went over the end line. If the linesman waited to put up the flag, then he's got it in for Spain. I don't know, I have only seen the pictures here.
Bad calls are part of the game. Donovan was clearly onside in the early going of our game. The ball deflecting off the German could have been called a penalty (as even tho it wasn't intentional, it gave a clear advantage to the Germans) and it could have also been ruled to go over the line. The ref chose to play on (subsequently calling a correct foul on Berhalter) and the linesman said he had a clear view and the entire ball was not in the goal. Also, the Germans were taking a few dives here and there (however, I think the free kick on which Ballack scored was a legit foul) that the ref bought into.
Spain outplayed Korea but they went home. Portugal outplayed the USA over most of the game, but they went home. Mexico definitely had the possession against the USA but went home. The USA actually played their best game of the Cup against Germany but couldn't finish (and Kahn made some brilliant saves!), and went home.
-
It's all politics, FIFA is trying to expand football. They are tierd of the same teams winning the WC. Hoping that some of the small teams win, or atleast make it to the quarterfinals. Too bad for Spain though, they never won.
I'm telling ya it's JFK's and Jimmy Hoffa's fault.
-
WE played very well. In fact we won this match. A referee stole it.
The story of your life.
I for one am glad those Spainish popsicle's lost. And by 2 goals is just sweetness.
How come they didn't score any points?
A. They are homo's.
Bu bye Spain.

The exact point I was going to make, plus the Ref followed the linesman flag, and from his (the linesman) position it was out...like or not thats just the way it is.
You can carry on about bias refereeing, but Spain didn't finish the Koreans at any stage of regular time, or the golden goal stage. And the ref sure didn't score the penalty that got S.Korea through.

ps. Go Germany cause I drew them in our work sweep! :D

Hey Ram, we will show you how to play the south koreans ;)
But this dudes can run forever, endless power they have, it
will be a hard fight. Good thing is we dont need that much chances,
1 or 2 good ones and usualy we score it.
And it should be done within 90min, everything else is remis.

This is RAM in a post when Italy was the victim of the robbery:
Naso...the other day in the Spain - Ireland match, we got very questionable offsides ourselfs. At least two were very very clear chances for Spain, and one of Morientes was even more clear than Tommasi's.
The other day we got 2 penalties in our box. Last one was clear as a sunny day, but first one WAS NOT Penalty. Was far from it.
When match ended, we were talking about how bad spain had played last 35 minutes. About the errors made by Camacho. About how we almost lost a match we should have won. About the luck we have in having Casillas. About Spain HAVING to change attitude if we want to win a world cup. About how sad would've had to return home after having lost a match we had already won.
Very little of the talk was directed at Frisk, the swedish referee. VERY little. And it had been ESSENTIAL in the match. BASSIC for the IRish recovering their confidence in themselfs. THe guy did an HORRIBLE work even while he almost got us killed.
Why?. Because we SHOULD be able to win EVEN with those errors, and Eire is much a better team than Korea. A team which scores 3 goals doesn't care about what the referee says or does. If Italy had stayed with the ball after scoring the first goal, and had showed will to WIN by more than one goal, then now you would be in semifinals.
Yep, you can say you got unlucky, and I will agree with it. Vieri missed 2m away from goal line. Gattusso Had a very very clear chance too (heh, but HE IS GATTUSO...had he been Del Piero you think he'd have missed?).
Blame your players for their innacuracy. Blame your coach for his incompetence. Blame Panucci for his error. Blame Gattusso for not scoring. Blame bad luck, maybe.
But sorry, blaming the referee on what yesterday happened is to show a very low autocritic level. Frankly said, you scored one goal and got happy with it and never really wanted to score a second...and you payed for it. Italy has been living out of that attitude for ages...sooner or later something like this was going to happen.
In football ambition usually equals to victory. you showed none yesterday. THats why you were left out.
And this is RAM after the Spain robbery:
Well,it happened.

:D
And, Answering your objections:
Yeah,.... uh... uh.... yeah... sure...

Yah, naso, I also said it would be an utter SHAME for Spain not to win clearly against Korea, and that if we were to be left out, then the players should feel FULL OF SHAME for being beat by a clear inferior team.
Now I say I feel proud of them, even while they didn't -officially- win. Why do I feel proud?...
a)-because they gave everything on the field
b)-because they WON the match (only one to say otherwise was the referee).
c)-because after being eliminated and clearly ROBBED, at least we showed a little of CLASS where others were crying and kicking players out of their teams (ahum :D)
Bassic difference between italy and Spain...Italy did the law of the minimun effort in their match. They scored a goal and then went back to defend the result for the rest of the match.
In contrast, Spain gave everything, ran more than the koreans (heh, and that IS difficult!) and scored two valid goals. Up to the same last second Spain was attacking, attacking and attacking to the point that in the minute 14.40 of the extra time the referee whistled the end of the extra time (due to happen at minute 15), because Spain was about to kick a dangerous corner. Scandalous.
Come on, naso, the degree of robbery in our match was UNPARALELLED in hte history of the world cups. Italy suffered from very bad (IMO intentional) referee decisions, but you lost more because your own faults than because any referee.
Spain won that match. Spain deserved to win that match. Spain did everything to win that match. Spain ran to win that match. Spain scored TWO GOALS to win that match.
We lost EXCLUSIVELY and ONLY because the bad referee decisions. If you score a clear legitim goal but the FIFA doesn't want you to win, you can score eight, they wont give any of them.
So take your pick on me if you want ,naso. I said what I said and I do confirm it. Italy was left out of the WC because your own faults.
We were left out because the referee wanted. Nothing else. :p

The two decisions clearly came BEFORE the so-called 'goal' was in, Nifty.
First one, the centering pass comes, side lines blow the whistle, Koreans stop playing, and a Spanish player pushes in unmarked.
Second one, there is some overcrowding in the middle of the penalty box, bunch of players jump and collide within, the ref. blows the whistle as the Spanish jump for the ball. After then the ball has 'goal'ed.
Those are your 'goals' padres.
As for Italy, Tottis red-card, as even RAM agrees, he was diving way before actual collision. Talk about 'dirty plays'... Call yellow cards and red cards toe-to-toe, and still Korea would have more players than Italy. The fouls by the Italians I've seen in that game were the most intelligent and violent ones I've seen up to date. None of you saw Vieri smashing the Korean defense's nose with his elbow? He went to the operating room right after the match, his nose caved in.
These whinings are getting tiresome.
If Italy and Spain were so good, how come they failed to goal in all those 'other' chances? It's not like Italy and Spain had only one~two chance 'assigned' to them or something. Maybe all your fat ol' European owners pushed their players right before the World Cup, so they fatigued and (to quote US Papers) "they aged like Dogs?" Maybe chumps like Berlusconi should be blamed?
Getting beat up by somebody whom you've always considered as a runt is a shocking blow. Maybe Italy and Spain better rest their brains a bit, before they learn how to lose.

1.- Spain didn't get beat up in that match. We just got robbed. Otherwise, it ended 0-0.
2.- All the world's specialized press agrees on that both GOALS (read:goals) were legitim and valid, and both were stolen from spain. All the world's specialized press also agree that Spain suffered the most scandalous refereeing ever in a World Cup. Open your eyes, dude...and SEE what happened last SAturday.
3.- Is highly difficult to play a good match when the other team does continuous faults and see no yellow card, while yourself do a couple and see two yellow cards (stadistic: korea is the team with the most faults in the world cup, but the less yellow-carded team in it. HA!).
4.- You can't do too much when you score 2 goals and they steal them from you. You can't do too much, either, when you're running to score 2 more and they call offside when is not.
5.- Spain played VASTLY better than Korea.
In the end....
6.- is impossible to WIN a match if the referee doesn't give you your legitim goals. If that happens, the most you'll be able to do will be to draw 0-0. We did draw 0-0 when it should've been 2-0, and easily 3-0 or even 4-0 (counting with the incredible offsides we had to deal with)
Spain suffered the worst refereeing ever in a World Cup. As simple as that.

Anyway -just to insist on the matter,lol- we were clearly superior to them :). So superior we won the match! (hehe)
