Title: History of the Sheep
Post by: Extreme on July 08, 2000, 09:22:00 PM
Anyone care to explain how the sheep came to be?  It's always been part of CK/WB/AH so how did it come about?

I'm sure there are some funny stories to be heard!

Back in the days when there were no 3d cards flight sims had to have some ground detail so that the pilots could have a sense of depth perception when aproaching the ground.

A gridwork of dots were used.  White ones in some games.  Well, what are white dots on green fields?

Hans.

Heck I always thought it was from Gray Eagle's splash screen where the P-51 pilot bailed out on the hill with the Sheep.

Sheep have some historical significance, most English air strips were merely grass fields in the English countyside.  Most of these fields were used for sheep herding and sheep on the air strips were a common occurence.

Some of it comes from the fact that in the DOS AW days onward, the Black Sheep were made up of some of the most notorious characters in the online world.

And now for the REST OF THE STORY:

This is a little known fact but I have it from a reliable source that HiTech Creations has two games in the same package. The other multiplayer game is "Sheeps Low" (Ewe) sign up for $19.95 and get your own Sheep Handle. While the fighters are playing in the Skys the sheep are playing on the ground. Each sheep players sheep becomes inoperable when an approaching Aces High vehicle or pilot is within 500 yads. The idea is to make as many friends and be as prolific as posible for the each tour. At some point I was told that when the sheep population gets so big they can rebel and over run the fields. This was relayed to me by an old player by the name of "DUDE" and I understand he is on top of his game so to speak in "Sheeps Low". It really makes a lot of sense but I hear that the RAM is overmodeled!    (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Of course, in 'Sheeps Low', the turn rates are (excuse the pun) hosed, there's no 'Special Ewe-vents' arena, and some of the sheep appear to be  under, and over modeled!

Around '93 or so someone at AW asked on open channel how one goes about diddlying a sheep.

1st player: Use a pair of rubber boots... a pair o' rubber boots on the hind legs maka sheep go hop-hop...

2nd Player: No NO!! You got it all wrong! Push the sheep up against the side of chiff maka sheep back up on you!

Ahh Ok

This is just offensive, and I for one, would like to see it stop.  Just because we're wooley and dosile doesn't mean we're meant to be sexual playthings for drunken pilots.  Ok, there are a few that like that sort of thing, but it's not right to generalize the entire AH Sheep population by the actions of a few rogue sheep!

Anybody remember WB Con 3 years ago, when there was a Goth Con next to it?

A bunch of Pigs and Sheep and I think JG26 took a big bedsheet and made a ghost out of it, and somebody got up on another player's shoulders and made a big ghost, and tied the inflatable sheep to them, like it was a ghost f***ing the sheep.

They ran into the Goth Con shrieking like a ghost at 3am. All these paleface Nancy Boys and the whiteface chicks got all pissed and called the cops.

hehehe.

hehehe...and here it is!

And I can't forget Snail walking down the hallway past their convention room at about 2AM, hauling a Concierge cart behind him with 2 or 3 psuedo-dead WB Con-goers laying on it, while he'd bang on the cart, and shout "Bring Out Your Dead!".  Yes, I was quite drunk, but that was one of the funniest things I've seen!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
