and now these people have nukes.  I sure hope nothing good happens over there.  at least nothing that would make them want a really BIG celebration.

Oh man...exactly how dumb can you get. Drop a mortar shell down the wrong way.  

But something that never ceases to amaze me are why these people never seem to realize that what goes up must come down. Whenever there is some sort of celebration in certain countries (most of them containing lots of sand) you will see people emptying AK-47s or M-16s on full auto into the air. And this guy thought he'd fire a mortar...Do they think the shells and bullets just dissapear after a while or what?

I remember reading about some new years celebration or whatever a couple of years ago where 11 people got killed due to being hit by bullets falling from the sky.

Last year in Sierra Leone some rebels set up a mortar up under a tree to fire at british troops surrounded in a govt building.   I think you can guess what happened to the rebels.
