nice,

bit of chemistry of film :

on a high speed film (used so image doesn't blur) the silver halide crystals are larger so that they pick up the light quicker, meaning a quick exposure and a frozen image i.e no blur.

so if you want to get a good likeness think off these things:

add more noise to image:

maybe actually reduce resolution to pixalate it a bit then add noise and blur

do you have  burn, sponge,  tool can help to darken areas

just ideas you might want to think about

also that colour is called sepia,

hope these tips help :)
(I used to retouch proffesionally am know a 3d artist.)

p.s also dont over do fancy effects as it always looks false keep it simple.

again nice piccy :)

heres a quick example:

1: change to greyscale
2: change to duotone added sepia
3: added noise
4: reduced resolution from 72 to 30
5: changed back resolution to 72 (info is lost so image not so sharp but not smooth as if blur was used) better grain effect
6: used burn tool to darken areas (random)
7: used sponge to lighten areas (random)
8: increased brightness and contrast to burn out image a bit
9: changed image back to rgb and posted piccy

You should be able to do these simple things with most decent art packages

errmm I used photoshop 7 :)
have fun
