I am seeing Geforce 3 Ti500 cards listed for less then 200 canadian...They have droped by 60% or so in 3 months...
That is like 130 US or so..

As an investment, I'd buy a GeForce4-4200 or 4400. Best technology, latest features, not so many bucks.
-
LOL!!! no pc hardware is an investment. anything you buy will have a better modle come out in 6-8 months that drops the price of yours by 60% or so.
just buy the best you can afford or the one that does everything you need, whichever is cheaper

My GeForce2 PRO 64M I bought last August can be had for about $35 now! :(
Kinda Funny!
Nice card though!!

Hmmmm,...if you are contemplating an NVidia card, I would wait until late August.
ATI will be releasing the R300 based video card in August (latest speculation) and with its performance (over 14,000 3DMarks in early hardware/drivers) NVidia will probably drop the prices on thier cards pretty sharply.
NVidias NV30 chip is being held up in production due to TSMC not being able to get to the .13u process (looks like Feb/Mar 2003).
Just FYI.

actually, as a service to the rest of you I constantly upgrade my machine. that way as soon as I buy a component they release something better and the prices fall.
you can thank me later

Itsd not worth worrying about it. A top Vid card willlast a while unless you're a real nut. I pass oldcomponents down the line to my son.
Actually a Geforce 2 is still more than good enough for AH.
BUT hardware is junk, like automobiles.

Still.
I have never see such a rapid drop in the top line Card from Nvidia nor anyone. That was the best card in the world 4 months ago or so...
Too have not stepped it down in price but take it down to entry level price so quickly...
