Title: Ok, ok where ARE the trains ?

Post by: Voss on June 25, 2002, 07:00:18 PM: Every map has a train resupplying grunt training for one. The ack is brutal, but a 110 can get in and kill it. In fact, I think every major asset has a train for resupply.

If you are lucky enought to come within 10 feet from one, you will actually notice that they look like a train and are indeed pretty.

Post by: oboe on June 25, 2002, 07:58:18 PM: My best luck against a train was in a P-38L. I dropped 2 1000lb'ers just in front of the engine, and then used the rockets to destroy the rest of the cars.

Really enjoyed it, because they've killed me almost every other time I tangled with them.

The second blonde just laughs and says " Dont be silly, they are obviously not buffalo tracks, they're probably Antelope tracks"
While they are arguing fiercely about this, a train hits them.

Nope. I hope in the future they can put up destroyable bridges, but it sounds very difficult to do with the setup we have now.

With the strat change in 1.09 from 1.08 the rail lines and roads no longer crisscross the landscape and now only make a straight run into their city/base for about 5 miles.

A train shot up my Mossie last time I was on. I was attacking the Bish radar factory when its train showed up. Hit me 5-6 times and put a hole in my port inboard fuel tank.

Post by: 4343 on June 26, 2002, 11:42:35 AM: yeah, trains are a real pain...the best way to kill one is to drop a couple bombs on it, and strafe the rest. rockets are good, cannon are too.

i like killing the convoys better. two 500lbers and a few strafing runs are all it takes
