could someone give a breif explanation as to how pics are posted on those free host web pages?
-
well, ya sign up for an account, upload a pic and they'll be an option to 'link to this pic'. Then ya copy the url they give you and paste it in here with a (http:// around it.
ish.

Free web hosts are moving away from allowing direct linking to hosted images.
They've basically gotten software that recognizes link tags, or references, and therefore no image will work. Even clicking on a link won't work...
Best thing to do, if you have to use free web hosting, is to tell the people to cut n paste the link to the image in the address field in their web browser.

Goecities is good for that, not allowing you to see the picture.
You can get around that by adding a question mark "?" to the end of a URL that isn't working. That usually works.
I use Webshots for hosting my pictures. It is a website that hopes you'll ask for the pictures to be converted into hardcopy photographs...thats where they get their money.

You even get 50 megabytes!!!
the only draw back, Hazed, is that you need to use FTP to upload your images.
If you're interested, private message me, and I'll go through the whole process with you.
