Finally scraped togheter enuff money for a upgrade:  Abit GF4200, Athlon XP 2000, 512 Mb DDR on a MSI kt3ultra -aru :)

 All  spinning carelessly in a in a HOT fanless case making about 0 dB.  CPU temp under load is about 55 C, and thats 4 C less than my old Athlon 900 which worked flawlessly for at least a year...
AH never looked so good & fast...
