Title: Pedal selection
Post by: SKColt on June 29, 2002, 09:33:04 AM
I am currently using a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2, on USB of course. What are my options for compatible pedals with toe brakes?

don't know of any but the CH Pro Pedals, that doesn't mean there aren't others out there.

Only prob with the CH pedals is the toe brakes don't seem to last long... mine lasted about a yr, and others have had similar experiences

I like the Thrustmasters pedals. I like the side ways movement. I tried useing the CH. But have a hard time getting use to just useing your toes. Also there isn't much resistance on it. At least the ones I've used. I use the CH Combat stick, CH Pro Throttle with my Thrustmasters pedals with no problem.

I've had my ch pro pedals usb for about 2 years? Everything still works on them.

Tho I did have a problem with one of the toe brake wires breaking a while ago. I just soldered the wire back together and it's been working fine since.

CH pedals have toe brakes. You only use them when you want to brake. Otherwise the'll slide back and forth for rudder like other pedals.

I have the CH peds with toe breaks. I think there kinda loose. The TM peds I like better but they have no teo breaks. In AH the toe breaks are not very usefull. In other sims like MS FS 2002 I love having the toe breaks. CH ped toe breaks will not work with the Cougar unless you do some rewiring from what I have read. TM peds will have toe breaks sometime in 2003. At lest thats what thier saying.

Wow, Seadog... I find the toebrakes immensely useful in AH. That is before they mysteriously stopped working. So you guys are saying that it's a simple disconnected or broken wire problem? Looks like I have a quick little weekend project coming up...

DUX your right . I do enjoy having the Toe Peds but I have lived without them before in AH when I was using my TM Elite Peds without toe breaks. I fly mostly bombers so unless I'm leaving from a hanger I don't need em. If I were a Ftr Pilot I can see using them to reload and fuel up without leaving the plane.
