Probably not a good thing to HO. Wasn't the question though...

Fairey Swordfish 2000, with 8x 40mm Cannons and 1x88 mm Cannon to kill the Yamoto! :D
-
:D ... But seriouoisly, I pick b25.

Was there an HTC poll on entering the MA? I didn't see it.
If so, I vote for Mosquito FB.Mk XVIII (Tsetse).
If there wasn't an HTC poll, then this thread is just a "What do you want" thread and I stand by the Yamato.
-
No poll, it just came up in conversation over CH #1.
Had the pics for ages, HS129 75mm looks Evil, Tsetse would be cool if/when we get subs/U-boats which we are maybe soonish maybe according to that interview at the last convention and I found a website earlier today with wrecks of stuff (mostly aircraft) from the Pac region which included a SB with a suspected hit from a B25 75mm gun.
I would vote for.....
All 3 :D
Tsetse gets #1 spot for me tho coz we already have the mossie model so limited work to get a new version out. B25, we would have to get the Doolittle model as well as the 75mm and HS129 is grossly underpowered and a pig to fly from what I have read.
Feel free to contradict me :)

Tsetse Mossie'd be much, much better than the Hs129. The Tsetse has a speed of 338mph on the deck, 380mph at 13,000ft and an initial climb of about 2,800ftpm. The Hs129 has a top speed of 253mph and an initial climb of about 1,300ftpm.
The Tsetse would also be much easier for HTC to add as 95% of the 3D model is already built.
I'd like to see both, but the Tsetse would be far, far better in the context of the MA.
-
But the Hs-129 is much tougher
-
And this one got a bomb bay
and a tail gunner
only 8 .303 in the nose (expirimental had 2x 20mm)
-
No plane is tough enough to survive. The Hs129 would feel very, very much like the Il-2M we already have. Sure its tough, but that just means that it takes a few more rounds to kill it. Actually killing it is never in doubt.
No, it is much better to be able to out run, or at least significantly delay, your attackers. The Mossie's speed, acceleration and handling more than make up for the difference in durability.
-
if you want a fast plane w/ a big gun, maybe the Me262 w/ 50mm Mk 214 is for you
-
The Me262 with the 50mm cannon never got beyond the experimental stage. It didn't work. The Mosuito FB.Mk XVIII did and was used.
-
...well that certainly is significant...didn't know...I'd take 4 x 30mm over 1 x 50mm anyway, unless i was attacking something with serious armour.
-
I sure don't want to mess with a Yamato
-
id take the HS129 over mossie
-
i say we get the hurr IV it was a very heavily armored hurr but still had a ton of manuverability and could carry 2 40's or 2 50's with 1,500 lbs of bombs and yes it did fly in war time
-
but i would take the B-25
mossie is wood and wood never has survived long
hs 129 is slow as F* and don't have much a* protection or top
-
I want that swordfish, its a FLaK 36 with wings taped on :)
-
hhhmmmm.. i would take Hs129
With MK103 or 37mm BK3,7 it should be good plane. As you can see from the pick, the 75mm gun is just too heavy for Hs129.
Hs129s cockpit/nose armor weighted about 1080kg (2,380lbs) and windscreen was 75mm (2.95in) thick armored glass.
-
uh hum. referin beck to the yamato. I would like to delacatly say: JESUS CHRIST 150 25mm cannons.on volly would destroy the intire fleet on aces high.:D I like.
-
Yamato was one impressive ship. It can now be seen ............. at the bottom of the Pacific!
