I might be wrong, but I think you guys are getting the wrong impression of this skin editor thing.  I understood that the skins would be tied to certain terrains and they would be just that, skins, not the ability to design whole new aircraft.  But like I said....I could be wrong.

I'm completely confused on the skin editor, does this only let you set the skin of objects such as buildings, or does this let you set the skins of the planes that PLAYERs fly? If so,   give me give me give me that EDITOR!!!!:D:D

so... is it the case that you would design the terrian together with the skin for the aircraft too for that terrain alone? :)

the guy doing the terrain will do the skins and those skins will be for everyone in that terrrain.

You wont be modelling planes or have your own personal plane skin.

imho they should be historic to the theater but generic.

Think of it this way: we can build custom maps, and we get to make custom skins that are sepcifically tied to that map. So, we can say the whole skin editing is virtually a part of that map..

 Seeing dark-grey 109s in a bright white terrain certainly takes out a lot from immersion. Now, with the Tunisia map, we'll probably be able to get 109F-4 skins in the F-4 trop colors!! In Stalingrad map, we'll get to fight in winter-camo 109s and 190s!!

 And P-38 whiners( :D ) like Tac might finally be able to see his P-38 in Olive drab, in ETO maps! ;)

 We'll be able to see different skins for hangars too! Dark black hangars in a white terrain?? They can be camouflaged now! Maybe the GVs can be "skinned" too..!

 The possibilities are limitless!

 ...

 IMHO, this is the best thing that has ever happened(well, scheduled to be happened) to the Combat Theater in its entire (short) history!
