I posted this in the general board and was told I would get more info over here.
It is time to up grade. I have an x35t and x36f with ch peddles. They are analog and do not work with AH or direct x8. Heck I had to buy a new puter when after 1.9 came out:D .
any how I am looking at the cougar cause I read that the older analog ch peddles will work with it.
The other system I am looking at is the CH products hotas. Will have to buy a new set off peddles to work with that I think.
Retail for the CH gear is $149.00 per pice. aA cool $450.00.
The cougar, with out haveing to buy any peddles, is about $300.00.
Got to have working peddles. I just can't get used to flying with out rudder feet.:)
So what is the virdict out there. Seems like you either like the cougar or hate the spings and or programiing. What about the CH gear.
Got to get something together so I can fly again.
Thanks
Chris

Cougar...
Cougar...
Hard to recomend it.. I have a Cougar with CH pro pedals(game port). It has been really hard to get used to..It works fine with the pedals..but the stick force is hard to get used to for me..
Just in fine control arround the center..
I have noticed that my accuracy is getting near 8% again though so I must be getting use to it..
I would not get rid of mine..But real hard to endorce it with the springs the way they are...

Well,
I would recommend the Cougar. It took me some getting used to, but I think I have finally gotten close to the point I was at before the change of sticks. It has been about two months, but in that time I have gone from flopping around the sky like a newbie to getting more than a single kill in a sortie over the last week.
I do wish that the springs weren't quite so stiff as my wrist starts to get sore after awhile (I messed my wrist up about 4 months ago when I tripped and almost fell on my face :D). Initially, the springs seemed to be a complete squeak to overcome, but I very much prefer it now. The other day, I was in Best Buy and was looking at getting a sterring wheel. I grabbed a MS Precision Pro 2 (what I used to use) and started moving it around. seemed very weak and toy like after the Cougar.
As far as it being fragile, I don't know if that is necessarily true (unless you drop it on a hardwood floor or throw it around the room). Some people have had problems with one of the switches on the throttle, but mine is fine. It hasn't shown any signs of wear and I use the switch all the time (I have the "up" view mapped to it).
As far as the CH setup, I have the pedals and that is it. The pedals are very nice and I would recommend them. The throttle and stick I have no idea about so I will let someone more informed fill you in on them.
