Title: The boards have been good natured lately
Post by: hblair on July 01, 2002, 02:08:57 PM: So I'll see if I can do my part to get things going.
After flying rook for the better part of two years, then going knight for a few months The Assassins will be flying bishop now. There are just too many people flying rook and knight who we enjoy killing. Anyways, The FDB's fly bishop, and we need to get them checked out of rehab and back into their cockpits. So we have a double pronged mission:

1. Kill morons.

2. Rehab FDB's.

Post by: Nifty on July 01, 2002, 03:17:47 PM: I fear this is all my fault. You see, in Invasion Sicily, I was in command of one of the Allied flights. Someone thought it would be a good idea to give me the FDB and Assassins in the same squad. When I got the list I was immediately scared. I figured that with the FDB tendency to shoot each other for the joy of it, the fact that Assassins and FDB are near mortal enemies, plus the fact I have several friendly kills myself, the 27th Fighter Squadron would last a whole of 5 minutes into the frames before we shot each other down. However, I was pleasantly surprised that we did a decent job. In fact, Assassins and FDB worked very well together. I'd like to say it was my leadership or the massive bribes in beer and wings to Fatty to behave himself, but the fact is, these guys are just meant for each other! It defies all rational explanation how these two dynamically different squads can coexist (or in the FDB's case, how they even exist in AH given the beer, wings, and groupies) and even work well together. Fellow Knitz and evil Rooks; be afraid. be very afraid...

Some of my favorite memories of AH are dogfights against FDBs. Especially the squad duels!

Who can forget the time the FDBs & Assassins decided to meet up in dueling arena for a bit o squad competition, the rules were simple, (they havfta be when used with FDBs :D) each squad got to choose a plane type, then swap after the round and fly what the other squad used the previous fight.

Well, the smak talkin' before the duel got pretty thick, and Zigrat made a wager that the Assassins would go undefeated for all the flights.

So about the second or third round, the FDBs roll Goons.

There were a few "aw sh*ts", knowing we'd hafta fly them C-47s next. :p

I wonder what the chances of gettin' HT to turn off killshooter for a tour might be? Whats that brand o Scotch he drinks again?

he does weird stuff when that song comes on and I prefer not needing to worry about bending over and stuff
