Right now I have a HP AMD K6-2/500 w/ 152 meg ram, Voodoo 5500 psi, 56k v90 modem and few other things (resources 71% free, 32 bit memory). Getting to the point I average about 15 FR using the Shift F2 background and um like FR 3 or less on CV's and high activity areas. Now with all the new goodies on 1.10 coming out am I going to be in trouble with the FR's being a lot lower on my puter? Thanks

Can't get much worse than FR 3. Hat off to ya, I can't see how you can fly with FRs like that. You are severly disadvantaged. I guess a FR of 2 or 1 will be little worse for ya. Sounds like time for an upgrade.

Your FR @ 20 is boardeline unplayable. A new MoBo & Processor is my suggestion. I just upgraded my P3 450 and 256 SDRAm to a Athlon 1800+XP with 512Meg PC2700 DDR... My FR went from 20 to 70. It is a HUGE difference!

I have a PIII, 800Mhz, 384Mhz RAM (3 128's), XP Pro, and a GForce DDR-DVI, 56k (have DirecTV-will not pay $80 a month for cable modem without cable). Gonna be upgrading to a GeForce 3 Ti200 64Mb DDR (maybe the 128Mb). I have no idea what my frame rate is in the arena but, I have had some good runs. My computer runs just fine and I can't wait to get my new Video Card.

I use to have AMD K6 series, didn't play AH very good at all. Can't remember what the problem was, but the K6 chip wasn't able to handle something which AH does. Not sure if this is still the case, but it might be.

I have heard from a few that the AMD K6's don't handle gaming good. Didn't realize that when I bought the darn thing. As far as low FR's and playing, it is hard but it has been that way since day one (a little over a year or so) and I am used to it. I get some kills and have some great runs, but yes it is a disadvantage to me when I lose someone one due to choppy screen images. I am going to look into building or getting built a new gaming PC. This one worked great with AW in the final days and so did my old kicker PB 200mhz (was a screamin puter back in the days of AW1). Can't find parts for that one anymore!!

Thanks for the link. I checked it out and they have some awsome pricing!! I think that put me on the right track.
FR Update:
Tried out 1.10 and so far it has effected my FR pretty harsh. The new terrain hit them hard. I flew a 51 through AK's buff formation run of I'm thinking close to 50 or so 17's and FR wasn't to bad, about 8. Had to wait til they took off though cause FR was 4 in tower as they were taking off, after I got up I took a pass on same course and flew right in the middle of them, FR around 6, then did some escort passes about 2k above them and FR was up to 9. Then my puter locked up, so on to new problem in new post. But definatly getting new system soon.

73% free resources is very low; a well tuned gaming system should be over 85%; and if you're not running firewall software such as Zone alarm or similar, you should be up around 90%.
It means you have "stuff" running in the background.
Which OS are you using?
Try hitting control/alt/delete and take a look what's running before you start any programs. Do you have MS office installed? Disable find fast.
There's some other things you can do to free up resources, depending on your OS. Your machine is becoming borderline for AH; but you should be able to squeeze a little more out of it.
