Title: Just another virtual warstory
Post by: Malm on July 03, 2002, 05:44:22 PM
Well I was just doing the daily checkout of our squadrone's B-26 when our squadleader told me to testout our new upgrades on the bombsight.

We had just moved to another base location and not familary with this field I payed specially notice to some small hills at the end of the runway. Nothing to worrie about since I got 200 hours in my log.

Full throttle and only two notch's of flaps with weel breaks on, I powered both engins to the red spot and released them breaks.

Going ninety I easily pulled back the stick and the bird lifted off from the runway.

On a test run I care less about the radio check and did'nt pay any attention to any friendlies what so ever. Only me and the buff plane.

Well somehow I misjurged the size of them hills and soon I found myself in throuble.

Retracting flaps I leveled and headed with full engine power towards those hills just to pull up in the last secound!

Well I didnt get clear of them hills and soon both propellers hit the ground and I did a full belly.

To my big supprise I was not the only one misjurdging them hills and just next to me two other B-26's did the belly.
Eagering to tell my story I went hotline eventhough we got radio silence.

Returning to base I reupped in another B-26, this time with all flaps retracted. Going full power I tooked them wheels up just a split secound after getting the lift.

This time I will show them rookies how to climb those hills :D

Bommer - first my right propeller hit the ground and soon after my left - going full belly once more :(

Big was my supprise that those two rookies from earlier once more did the belly just next to me

What a couple of rookies they must have been, falling for the same trick twice

I called on the radio once more to tell my story to the public when I realized that those planes was part of my formation :o

Greate update but do I really need to read the manual?

Well my guess is that I have to :D

ROFLMAF Malm! good one. I took a box of Bostons up offline to see how well they would follow me. They did pretty well until I did a split S. They didn't follow me (didn't even try), then they exploded shortly there after.
