Okay, I have to admit, I never thought the dive bomb sight modeled on the Val could actually be used to dive bomb... but it can! I set my one of my joystick buttons to alter my 'look forward' view to peer through the bombsite.
I suck at dive bomb accuracy, but using that sight in a steep dive and I'm 100% accurate! I could drop a bomb on an ant hill should they be modeled. Very very cool!
I tried the same thing with the P40's dive bomb sight and it works as well. :)
Now, don't confuse this with the actual training dive bomb sight that HTC has implemented. This is not that. These are actually part of the plane's model. The Val's is a long tube off center from the pilot in your default view. Change it to look down the tube when you're dive bombing and see if it works for you too.

Yup worked for me too, i was acctually kind of suprised how well, i droped a 50kg bomb right onto of an osty last night, sure a lil luck was involved but before this i have never killed a tank of any kind with jsut a 50kg bomb

how did you set the view foward?
-
You can move your view using PageUp PageDown (up and down) and move forward, backward, left and right using arrow keys.
Press F10 to save your position.

Tracer-15, the trick is that each view direction can be altered and saved for each seperate aircraft. Besides your regular "look forward" (when you don't touch anything), you can also assign a head position for when you look forward with the numpad8 key (or by use of a hat switch). It is this "alternate" forward view that are being used for the special sight.
Besides things like this dive bomb sight, it is extremely helpful when you want to achieve best visibility in a certain direction, instead of looking straight into a cockpit-bar.
Problem is that each plane has 27 views you can program (more if the plane has gunners), so it can be quite a work to optimize all the different views for all the planes.
However, the headpositions I use I have made available for download at my site. I also set the view through the sight in the 'val', but didn't knew that it could actually be used for anything. :)

cc works here as well
1st sortie in the D3a was diving on a town which still had the 2 bunkers up as I rolled inverted figured what the way, moved the view over to look out through the tube, lined up, dropped my 2 little wing bombs and finished off the rest of the town.
I love that little plane now. SBD as well. So now I want a Stuka!!!!! These 2 planes prove dive bombers are survivable in the MA.
