Title: AH Film Locks Up
Post by: dtango on July 04, 2002, 10:01:04 AM
Greetings HTC:

The new film viewer locks up on me and I have to get into the task manager to kill the program for it to close it.

The freezes up occur with films for both 1.09 and 1.10.  For films done in 1.10 the lockups happen immediately.  For 1.09 films they play for a little while then freez up.

Any suggestions?

HT:

FYI - tried filming with 1.10 patch 1 and AH Film still hangs.  Don't know if I was suppose to expect any new outcome yet or not but just wanted to give you a heads-up.  Thanks!

I'm getting lockups on my film viewer just like Dtango.  On V1.09 films I notice that they will run for about 2-3 min then lockup.  On one film I noticed it locked up at the same exact spot on the "built in" film viewer as on the Windows film viewer.  No, it wasn't the end of the film :).

My V1.10 films lockup too, but I haven't noticed a pattern yet.

Thanks for any help on this topic.

Title: v109. film still runs in v109.

Ditto on the film lockup problem.  Old V.109 films (old like a week or two before update)and new V.110 films lock up on both my Athlon 1.2Ghz desktop and my P4Mobile 1.8Ghz Dell Notebook.  Interestingly, a v109 film from end of Jun runs fine on my PIII 933Mhz that still has AH V109.0 on it.  Desktops have Nvidia Geforce 2s 32/64MB RAM and Win 98 SE.  The Dell 8200 Notebook has Gforce 4 64MB Go Video and Win XP Home edition (OEM).

Sure would like to be able to take my new notebook to work and show a few potential new subscribers some good action films.

I haven't heard of any resolution on this issue, and can't find one by searching the entire message board.  Is this a bug?  Has anyone been able to view an entire film after 1.10?  Thanks for the help.

The lockup sequence works like this for me.

ANY film selected from Film on the clipboard and run full screen on the FE.

ANY film double clicked from the Film folder and auto activating the Film viewer.

However, if I launch the film viewer and then select the film from the Films menu, they *usually* play to completion (as long as I don't mess with any of the controls along the right edge of the window... changing viewpoints etc. does not seem to cause a lockup, but trying to FF via the slider will.)
