Baruch Goldstein.

I think it's far more likely to be an Arab terrorist though.

CNN said the gunman looked "arabic" but we all know thats a crapshoot since many Isreali Jews and Arabs tend to look alike.

Anyway WTG El Al I'm always encouraged by this airlines willingness to shoot first and ask questions later!

Are you sure? He lived in L.A., for cod's sake, those are the minimums! :)

From what I heard, the man was actually saying something about losing his job or something like that. I was watching CNN when the CBS affiliate network correspondant was interviewing an eye witness who said he heard the man say something about "you took my job" or something like that.

The strange thing is that the network interrupted the witness, and started talking about something (IMO) less interesting... and the witness was never heard again... perhaps it was not a reliable witness or perhaps they didn't want this incident to turn into another "I lost my job and I'll kill you all" rampage, since it would be an audience turn-off...

Anyway, I doubt a "trained" terrorist would go up to El-Al ticket booth without taking out the armed guards first!

I would be amazed if it turned out to be an Arab. Very rarley will you find that an Arab is sponsible for attacks against unarmed people at airports or on aircraft....... never happens.

guess we can't have arab descent nutbags without calling them "terrorists"

the news orgs are biting at the bit to call the small a/c crash in ca yesterday "terrorism" too

I guess "TERRORISM" headlines sell better

Don Henley says it well in "Dirty Laundry"

I was in Terminal 7 waiting for my brother to arrive when we saw the response.  Many, many police cars going very fast in the wrong direction on the LAX loop was interesting to watch.  I think the most stressful part of it was that we didn't know what was going on at the time, and that my brother's plane was minutes from landing.  We were hoping (as we saw several large fire trucks go by) that nothing was wrong with his plane.  He landed just fine, maybe 15 or so minutes after the shooting.

It took LA news choppers all of another ten minutes to swarm overhead.

We didn't find out what actually happened until we got home.

Terminal 7 is not the international terminal, but it was still probably the closest I've ever been to an international class incident.

Bingo Eagler. We white anglo saxons have got it better. We can shoot up an entire high school without someone yelling "terrorist."

I noticed that from the news .. isn't there restrictions on them too?

Seems easy for a nutbag group to paint up a chopper as NewsChannel 8 and fly right over/into and do whatever.

Make for some good footage as a couple of Eagles came screaming in on a news chopper :)

Anyone walks into an Airport terminal on July 4th with 2 guns and a knife,shoots/kills 2 people and stabs a security guard is a terrorist...That he was an Arab is moot.

"My husband didn't do such a thing. This is nonsense," 41-year-old Hala Mohammed Sadeq El-Awadly said in Cairo.  "He is a victim of injustice," she said three times. "In America, they hate Islam and Arabs after Sept. 11."

Too bad she wasn't holding his bags at the airport.
