Happy Anniversary VMF-323!

The BK's recently celebrated their TENTH or was it ELEVENTH anniversary.  As the first squad formed back in '91 or '92 (can't seem to remember which year) on (then) TSN/Red Baron, we seem to be the ancient ones, though there are still many of us old RB'rs lurking around.  The only older squad that I can recall was called FS (Flight Sim) and they started on a sim BBS before we even had this nasty habit ;).

The "FS" squad in RB was from the Compuserve Flight Sim Forum (FSFORUM).  I was in it, I think you stomped me more than once. :)

We later went on to GEnie/CRIS Air Warrior and WarBirds as the Flying Squirrels.  I don't know if they're still active in WB or not.

We need to have an old timers reunion.  I still look back on RB days with great fondness.  Those were the days :)


We have several BK's from RB that are still flying...you may remember Jigsaw (coming back to AH) or Havoc (says he's coming back someday).  RickT used to be DsalamanderT.  Grognard (aka NCTSpam) still pops his head into AH every once in awhile.  Pirate (aka NCTPirate) is now back flying and who can forget FTRekkof.  Haven't seen him in the air lately but he's always talking via email on the squad list.  I'm sure I am forgetting some others.

If you played RB, give a shout out and say hello :)

Oh yes, I too started in Red Baron, then Genie Air Warrior, WarBirds, Airwarrior AOL etc etc, then an Original Beta Member of Aces High.

By now you'd think I'd know how to fly better than I do.

I played Red Baron but it was on some network called "Imagination"...damn that was along time ago.

Ripsnort and all members of VMF 323. Happy Birthday!! I think everyone of the VMF has made a difference in my life. In some way either flying or in real life. Especially Ripsnort, Blueice, Cavalear, Oct, & 10Bears. I really enjoyed being in VMF 323 for however long I was. I am thinking about coming back very soon, but I have always told you that. So Rats...congrats on 2 years!!
