OK. All that are having trouble getting hits with the new bomber scope system, this is for your interest.
As you might know i have replied to several post in regaurds to the New Bomber sight system. Calibration of the new sight is pretty straight forward and im sure most of you are calibrating it correctly. So i wont anger or belittle you by repeating the HOW TO CALIBRATE the new Bomb Sight lecture that so many other Jerks have done in the BBS. They seem to asume that players having trouble geting hits, are stupid and dont understand how to follow simple instructions of Calibrating the bomber scope. If they would take time to read an entire replies, the would see that calibration isnt the problem.
Nuff of that.
Here is the reason i am posting this message.
I have had Very poor results geting any hits at all from a calibrated scope. Till Now i didnt know why. :(
Today i went to my brothers house. He has 2 computers.
So i decided to test the bombing on his 2 PCs and see if they performed any different than mine at home.
here is the results.
First let me outline the test settings for you .
IN a offline Mode. Using the SFMA Map I take off from A48 at 8.5K. After liftoff i turn directly towards A41, a Sea Level Base. The target is the TOWN of A41. Next i cut throttle to 30lbs manifold pressure. I line up for the town as soon as i get visual from a zoomed Ball Turret. Salvo is for 24x100 lbs. Delay is for .09.
There is no wind in the Offline mode. Therefore no wind to effect results. Next i Calibrate the Scope per Calibration procedures.
All things being equal, Here is the results using 3 different computers on 7 Bombing runs on each PC.
PC #1
This is my PC.
Processor---Celeron 300 mhz.
Ram----------256 Meg.
Video Card--Invida , Vanta 16 Meg.
Fram Rate average 24fps
Bombing results---7 Missions. NO Hits and bombs were 1/2 town width short of town on the first 5 drops. And 1/2 town width Long on the last 2 drops.
PC#2
My brothers main computer.
Processor--Athlon 900 Mhz.
Ram---------512 Meg.
Video Card---ATI. Radon 32 meg. DDR ram.
Frame Rate average 50 fps
Bombing Results---7 missions. All Bombs were within the TOWN BOUNDARIES!!
PC#3
My brothers second computer
Processor--Celeron 300 Mhz.
Ram--------- 128 Meg.
Video Card---Rage Fury 32 Meg RAM. NOT DDR Ram
Frame Rate average 36fps
Bombing Results--- All Bombs within TOWN All 7 Misssions!!
Conclusion.
Aparently a slow Frame Rate can cause inaccurate information to your scope while you are Calibrating it for speed.
As you can see. PC #3 and my own PC #1 have the same Processor. and BTW they both have the same Mother Board.
And while PC#1 has Twice as much RAM. PC #2 has a 32 Meg Video Card and A Better Frame Rate than PC#1.
So it is my belife that a Slow Frame Rate can adversely effect your Bomber Scope Calibration. Even though you are not physically seeing a difference, something is amiss
Perhapes HTC needs to update their Minimum required Video Card?
After all, the game has had a ton added to it in the last 2 versions. Hope this helps someone.
