are these suppose to be less stable. which means its more maneuverable?

yes. But more precisly a better role rate.

which means it'll have to scarifice some low speed maneuverability.

i guess their are other spits for that.

not that the spits dont have a good enoug roll rate already:)

but yeah. if htc has time the i dont see why not.

My personal opinion is that we have more spits than we know what to do with.  I think an important addition before *another* Spitfire is a green P-38.

And it wasn't even a TED that said it. Hehe thanks Puke. :D  There are also some important Japanese planes that are conspicuously absent from the current planeset. I'd like to see those before another Spitfire.

spit fire has more models than any other plane in AH!, IMO I don't think we need more spits yet, HTC needs to keep focusing on earlywar planes untill we have enough to do some really good early war scenarios :)

A green P-38 would be great.
A clipped wing LF IX or XVI would be even better. :D

pffft!....why would anyone want a p38J (You TED's must be using some sort of mind control to get people to mention the pj ;) ).:D

There are only 4 spits in AH- the mkI, V, IX and the XIV (XIV doesn't even get used because of it's high perk value).  There are 5 109's to choose from and 4 190's- i see no reason not to add to the collection of spits.:)  It's not as if what i'm asking for is a rare plane with very few produced (like a spit21.....mmmm 4 hispanos on a spit).

P.S. a clipped wing, tear drop canopy spit14 would be nice.  Oh, a mkVIII would be good too.;)

I thought it was widley agreed that Rhubarb missions (for which the clipped wing Spitfires were designed) were a bad idea

If you want a clipped wing spit then why not the Mk. XII ?

Don't forget the Seafire.  It actually wears a "Spit" tag too.

Seafire isn't a spitfire.  It has Sea instead of spit so it doesn't count. :)  The spitfire is an RAF aircraft, the seafire is in the Fleet Air Arm.;)

Compleeeeeeetely different aircraft. :P Ok you got me, i was trying to make the spit varients look smaller.:D

But it can't be helped to have so many different variations of the spitfire.  It served as the Uk's (and commonwealth) frontline fighter from the outbreak (well there were more hurri's at the outbreak) of the war until the end and it was constantly improved upon as a consequence.

Soooooo...add more spitfires!:D

Good idea.

LF Spit9 in 1943~44 standards would be very good.

Give us the Bf 109G-14 and give us the Lf Spit9 too.. :)
 (aren't we a greedy bunch, eh? :) )

I don't think we need any more Spits right now.  The only RAF aircraft that I think would be semi-OK to add would be a Wellington, Beaufighter or Mosquito Bomber.

What is really needed are more Japanese aircraft, more Russian aircraft and some new tanks.

Hmm, about time for a luftwobble rant for a serious jabo machine ain't it?:D

WE NEED MORE 109's!!!!

No, we don't need any more 109s either.  Nor do we need a LW Jabo machine, the Bf110G-2 does quite nicely at that.

We need Japanese aircraft, Russian aircraft and tanks.

Well cosidering the most versatile LW Jabo in game is neutered  the ultimate LW Jabo by default is the 110G2.

Yeah, no more Scheissfeuer for now though,  more Jappie planes we need, with Hentai noseart .   :D

Glasses,

More loadouts on the Fw190F-8 would be great, but that is totally different from adding a new aircraft.

OK, OK, but what we really need is another P-47, an unperked P-47M would be very nice:)

Clarifying on the clipped Spits.  The first mass use of the clipped wing spits was with the Vb as a way to increase the speed a bit and the roll rate. They were escorting the medium bombers across the channel and 18-20K and not the high alt were the airwar had gone for a while.  It was a quick fix to try and keep the V in the game against the 190.

With the XII the first production Spit with the clipped wing, it was the same.  It was a medium to low alt version of the Spit with a single stage Griffon.  Tactics for the XII Wing was to try and draw the 190s and 109s down and then turn into them, using the superior performance of the XII to turn the tables as the Tangmere Spit XII wing did so well on 10/20/43 when they got the 190s and 109s to come down and play, claiming 9 for no loss.  As with the clipped Vbs the XIIs were used often to escort the medium bombers of both the RAF and USAAF to targets in France, along with the fighter sweeps, rhubarbs rodeos etc.

The Clipped wing VIII, IX and XVI were again aimed at medium to low altitude word, including the ground attack stuff.

In general at the lower alt the airwar was being fought at from mid 43 on, the difference in turn radius was not great with the clipped Spit, while the speed increase and roll rate increase helped a great deal with the 190s.

Best bet for a clipped Spit in AH would be a 'clipped clapped and cropped' Vb or a late war ground attack XVI (in my opinion.)

Clipped wing, tear drop canopy spit14 could be worthy of 60 perks :)
