I haven't played with the AH terrain system very much, but I thought I would ask you guys to check out the following link and see if this utility might help in the terrain creation process.

Thanks Voss... I can think of several uses for this. Can't wait to try it out.

another superb app in the terrain-creation area is Bryce (http://www3.corel.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=Corel/Product/Details&id=CC1M72VRBAC) (originally made by Kai Kause of Photoshop/Goo/KPT fame, now bought by Corel). an amazing piece of software.... not sure how well suited it is to AH TE work, but worth a look.
(if only to check out its user interface, which is on a different planet compared to pretty much every other PC app out there!)

I've used Bryce at work for years... it does some really cool things. It rules when it comes to making sci-fi terrains. Getting something realistic out of it is not easy. I don't think it lends itself to AH terrain creation... Bryce's strengths lie mostly in the textures, which won't come over to AH anyway.
Yeah, and the interface is trippy... sometimes it gets in the way.
Otherwise, it is fun to play with. It's a good tool to have in your toolbox.

After checking out the soft in Voss's post, I followed a link from that site to Terragen. Now that is an impressive piece software. Especially with the plugins.

Wish somebody like Wab could write a plug-in for Terragen that exports .elv and .typ files...
