on the front page of the HT web site hitech has these sys req's

Windows 95/98/ME/2K
DirectX 8.0
DX 8 compatible video card
PII 333 or better
Sound card and speakers
Internet connection


does anyone use  anything close to this system and  if they do what kind of frame rates do ya get with it?

These are the real requirements:

Video: TNT or above
CPU: 500mhz or above
RAM: 128mb or above
Hard Disk: around 100mb free
DirectX 8.1

Windows or Linux, and an internet connection obviously.

yes i used a pc with the min requirements up until a month ago..
with its 810 intel video card my frames ran 19- 30  , 70-80 looking up ...  last month while using it my fps was getting down to 9fps in the main though but still at 19-30 in any other arena.and only in the main when the numbers are low.

Now on my P-3 500 mhz  w/ a gf 2 mx 200 card the frames run at 30 most of the time and down to 19fps in the main .

So this game can still be played with a pc close to the min reqirements. but getting shot down alot because of the slow frames was getting to me.

But id recommend  around a 800 ghz cpu ,256 ram, 64mb video card , hi speed connection.  for the best game play and the cheapest upgrade . I built one for under 300.00 U.S .   My frames now run at 60fps  and the worse frame ive seen was a 48 .

ECS K7S5A MB  with an AMD/duron 1.0ghz cpu    $130.
GF 2 mx 400  64 mb                                              $68.
256 DDR pc2100                                                   $50.
mid tower w/ 300w PS                                          $50.

I recycled a 30gig hd, CD rom, 3.5 floppy  .
