Just curious...any civilian or military pilots(in real life) play this great game? Post pics of you and your ride if you have any
-
Here is my ship:
Pilatus B4 PC11-AF
-
Soloed on the morning of my 16th birthday in 1974 and flunked my drivers test that afternoon (no joke)! Private Ticket on my 17th birthday. Still flying. :)

I've done a little military flying...

'68 C172 with a 220hp Franklin and constant speed seaplane prop. Usually on Floats. Haven't flown it in 2 years, waiting for my prop governor to return from repair shop now. Off to get my Instrument and comercial ratings next month.
Hey, Eagl, I'll trade ya :D

It's been a few years and my license is in need of renewal but I've flown the usual stuff, 152, 172 but my favorite was a Katana.

Note the stick in the above pic. Yokes are for making eggs.... Sticks are for flying
Also note the bubble canopy. All composite construction. For low end aircraft this plane was the best. I swear if it had 6 .50's on it.....
Eagl. That's a damn nice ride. Know where I can get checked out in one of those :D
-
I have a commercial licence for Helicopters which I do as a partime job. Mostly PnC time in H500's though some Jetranger time as well.

I hope it wasn't too hot where you flew this Katana :D :p :D Got to love the composite falling appart when you have no parachute

This is my present ride

my cousin (a cute chick with a wierd first name :) designed the alot of the software for that bird. I'm no expert but I am gonna assume that is an E.
Cessna 402 because (lol A26 pure coinecidence trust me) Queen Air cost too much to fly.
Anyone guess her first name (on the E project) and I just gonna have to shoot ya.

Lol!..I think I'm the only guy in No418 Hornets that isn't an airline pilot..:)
-
I'm not, but my husband, Zeb, is.... at least he took his Private Pilots License a good few years ago now, though has not been able to keep it current. He learned to fly in a Piper Cherokee at a Flight School (Air Navigation & Training) at Blackpool in the UK. Some pics of him and our son, Cloud[y], checking out one of the aircraft he regularly flew in....

Past tense for me, but accrued about 900 hours, many in this...
-
... and this is the instrument panel etc. It was a very comfortable plane (though not much headroom in rear).
I agree with Undeth though - yokes suck. I'm a stick man too. Learned to fly in a K13 glider, then soloed in it and then the K8, K18, owned an Astir CS (crap - a Pegasus would have been much better). Moved on to Grob 109 motor glider, got hooked on powered flight (gliding is too hit and miss in British climate - just look out of the window right now) and owned a Piper Warrior 151 on a leaseback arrangement. Some banana crashed that in a field the size of a shoe box when he tried to land it (was his old microlight field) and I decided to go private with the TB10 whose photos are here. The Rallye (made by same company - Socata) had a STICK. I liked that :)
Hitech - take note of the manifold pressure gauge in (second dial from right), and note that with the engine off, it reads the current atmospheric pressure :D:D:D
-
I'm a pilot but don't have any pics at the moment.
-
I am a pilot. This was my favorite ride until last October!

Fly helicopters commercially full time. Probably why I tend to vibrate and shake my way through the air in a Spit too!
Have Pics..just no way to get em here yet.

There are many pilots here...:)
-
woaaaa I am so jealous on ya all :)
-
I have about 350 hours, mostly gliders, with some Cessna, King Air, & taildragger time thrown in. Owned a Salto (aerobatic glider) for a few years.
I am most proud of having flown a glider to 36,000 feet in mountain waves, and having flown another on a 500km round trip flight in an afternoon.
Here is my last ride, an LS-4.

-
Private ticket, but alas, not current:(
Flew Cessna 150s, 152s, 172s, and 182s, Piper Cherokees, Archers, and Arrows. Favorite ride was the Archer.
TKOR
-
Going for my private now (pre-solo), training in a Piper Cherokee.
-
Here is my current plane. Just a bit of a contrast from the jets huh?
-
Here's a pic of me in my old Gere Sport Biplane. I put about 175 hrs on it before selling it to someone in CA. Nothing like an open cockpit! Got my ticket in '79, 5 months from ground school through check ride. I've also owned a single-seat Quickie I, KR-2 with a Barker VW conversion & supercarb, and a 1941 Culver Cadet LCA. No yokes in any of those! :)

Moi. Private Pilot. Haven't flown in 1.5 years since there isn't much to rent here, is always booked or some other damn reason.
205 hours logged
Got 1.5 hours in one of these (co pilot)....some of you may recall I was damn near killed in one (picture not the one I flew in, but did have Aussie Roo's on it)
Sold my BD-5 kit a few weeks ago. Really didnt MEAN to...airline pilot wanted to see it, and offered $5k on the spot for it. I bought the thing for $3k, so hey, take the money and run!
Pondering the next ride. Really kinda partial to the L-39s, I would just love to get some jet time. Budget forces me to realize "Props are Good" Oh well, maybe someday! If I were to build another, it would be one of these...

My old Champ. I flew it for several years in 7 different states out of Michigan...
(http://srg2000.tripod.com//sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/champweb.jpg) 1946 7-AC Champ, N1438E, 65 HP Cont.

I am a member of a club, so I get to fly different airplanes:
CAP10B (Aerobatic Trainer, now working on my aerobatic solo)
C172N
(http://st.upc.es/danig/echlt1.jpg)
Robin 200-120
(http://casal.upc.es/~danig27/fotos/Robin-Gloria/640/DSCF0035.JPG)
C182 (no picture)
The club also has 152s, a PA28, a Flamingo, a Pitts S2A, a Zlin Z-50 (being repaired), two Bucker-Jungmanns, a 172FRJ, and a twin, but I haven't flown those yet.
Don't be fooled, I'm a newbie with only 100 hours and a 1 year-old PPL license... I'd fly more, but it's so damn expensive!

Am going to try to post a couple pics of planes I am flying, sometimes the server fails me though.

Dumb Question: Does anyone fly old airplanes like WWII props?
-
CyranoAh, who is the girl in your last pic? :)
-
Kevin,it's not a dumb question...it's just that few people can afford that :(
-
Yeah shes pretty cute. I like the was she wears her belt. Like its an "action" belt or something.
:D
-
ahh i have a thing for redheads

My brother and I just started flight school. This is a pic of me on my first flight in a Cessna 172, my intro flight!
-
congrats CarlosL!!!

Used to be a CFI with about 3500 hrs and then developed an aversion to flying (go figure?). In any case, last April while in Disney World I decided to break the spell.

Thanks udet, this stuff is sooo easy and confusing at the same time lol! But ,y VFI says I'm doing great, thanks again.
-
I have a student license with a solo endorsement on C152's. I'm hoping to afford to finish my PPL in the next couple of months (darn wife is expensive to keep). I also have a lot of unofficial stick time in many fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.
I also have a couple of hundred hours as a flight test engineer, if that counts. ;)

Her name is Gloria, and she is my fiancée (been together for almost 7 years now, phew! :) ).
Here she is in a C130 in a recent visit to the Military Airbase at Zaragoza.
BTW, right now she is attending the Summer Session of the International Space University held at Pomona, CA.
Daniel
PS: Actually, she's not a redhead, but a brunette. It's just that depending on the light, she can actually be mistaken for one.
-
CyranoH u are a lucky guy. So pilots indeed get the hot chicks. But I bet astronauts get the hottest of all :)
-
Pomona is right around the corner....

I was a North American Fall Webworm in my past life.Ah those were the good old days...
What were you in your former life?

Ever run across an O-3 F-111/B1B driver named Glenn Thibault? He's been out since shortly after the gulf war (caught a virii in one eye that blinded and gounded him).
He joined the Martin Bakker club in a T38 over North Dakota when some missing lockwire cost him both engines.
Just curious.
-
What is the Martin Bakker club?

Hehe I consider myself lucky, you can be sure about that! :)
Back to the original topic, here's a nice pic that a friend of mine took today in a flight with 3 aircraft from the club. The airplane I'm flying is a Robin 200.

Sorry Puck, I haven't met the man.
I'm in the farthest left side wingman in this pic.
-
Helllllllllllllllllllllllllo Gloria.
Hey pomona is next to the airport I fly from, will you visit her soon? I will bring you guys up over L.A..:)
-
You fly from Ontario?
Thanks for the offer Frenchy, mais je dois rester ici pour faire marcher notre societé... elle ne peut pas travailler là, et alors je fais mon travail et SON travail ;)
Anyway, feel free to invite her alone, but I doubt she'll be willing to fly. Heck, she doesn't want ME to fly. :)
She's on a pretty tight schedule, but I can give you her email if you want to try. :p
If you come to Spain, be sure to send me an e-mail, and I'll take you for a ride here.

Does throwing up in a C-119 as an AFROTC cadet count?

Most of the 418 RCAF fly one of these:

I have 250 hours in a Cessna 150, 152, 172, Cutlass, Citabria's, Kitfox(build and sold it), and a two-seater Eipper MXLII(N104RR). I have over 600 hours in Ultralights...Now that's flying. :D I should be glad I didn't kill myself! I haven't flown in over 10 years(Pilot in Command), but I can sit back, close my eyes, and still review the movies that are in my head...everyone should have their turn to feel free. ;) WARNING: Sport flying can be hazardous to your marriage.

LOL :D
Is that an A320?
Daniel
-
lol Halo, did you quit ROTC after that? I know a guy who did :)
I wish I could go up in one of those birds. As long as the ride doesn't last too long,I should be OK...
Anyways, I am amazed at the number of pilots that play AH. It inspires even more respect for this sim.

Those canucks talk funny, but they do make fine airplanes. :)
