Title: Most Distinct Voices
Post by: Ozark on July 13, 2002, 08:07:31 PM
After a few years of flying in WB on RW and AH with RW and AHVoice, I found only one voice that always stands above and beyond the general chatter! My vote is for….. Maddog!

It’s a voice of reassurance and command, a voice of sarcasm and comedy. Plus, it’s easy to copy over the speakers. What can I say, when I’m working a DX station on ham radio, that’s the type of voice that’s heard over the pileup.

My second pick is Blitz! Hey, if you ever heard him you would swear that you were winging with the Terminator!  ;)

It would sure be nice if AHVoice worked with my system. I can't tell you how many times the 'Check 6' has failed, the wrong guy broke off, and my intentions went unheard. Plus, everyone thinks I'm a mute. :)

Not just you Voss. Those city slickers can’t understand hillbilly speak!

Wabbit.

It's not his voice as much as it is the background noises.  He raises African Grey Parrots and they are always squaking like mad.

That's BS, I have the most noticable voice.

It's nowhere mentioned that people are supposed to understand what I say right?

ZEKE!!

Always very clear, and directly to the point with no excess jabber lol.  I dunno where he's from (is), I'm guessing Japan.

Otherwise I think the statement over vox that will stay with me longest over the years was Frenchy telling me how we "kicked thier asses" after we came out on top of a lopsided fight lol.  No, I didn't understand "all" of it hahaha

The funniest thing I have heard on vox was some guy being chased by some con.  He must have received check 6's from the 15 knights in the area.  He came on vox and said, "Enough with the check 6's, just kill the diddlyin thing!"  Then someone popped on and said, "Shut up and die like a man."

Hi Ozark - what's your callsign?  I'm not active on amateur radio at the moment, but I always keep my license paid up to date because too much hard work went into getting it to give it up!  :D

Ya that default "Check6" scared the hell out of me every damn time, had to change it.

It was worse than actually having someone on your 6.

HiTech, scary?

Nah!

He just sounds like a robot

Which at first i thought was just AHV being crap
But then i heard some 'normal' (possible?) people
Heard the voice again, looked up, saw HiTechs name and thought

"OH FU<|

My vote is for….. Maddog!

I'll go along with that, the calm amongst the hub-bub.

I wish I had a tape of a fellow squadies voice from WB. Epower has a voice and a way of stateing things that is uncomparable.

You could pick him out of a crowd.

Distinctive?  You guys with the funny accents all sound the same to me.   :D

You all need to learn how to speak Australian, you know, "g'day mate" and all that.

Freeze is a contender. Hes got that german porn actor voice, mix it up with how he gets so damned excited when you're about to nail someone....

you gotta imagine this in a heavy german accent:
"ohhhh jaaaa vulcan get him yaaaa thats it get him vulcan ohhh jaaaaaaaaaaa you almost have him"

Always throws my aim off and I miss the bastiges.

I havn't had AH voice in a while due to a firewall issue...but in my limited experience Blitz is the winner here.

When we used to use RW I could never tell who was who except Blitz...and he was the only one who would always say "Blitz over" so that we can identify who was talking...but in his case it was unecessary.:D

Obviously, I hear Mongrels more than anyone else.  TeeeRex and Maddog are the most distinctive.  Until Teee has to leave, then he gets all sullen and normal sounding.  ;)

Outside of the Mongrels...  Hitech is the most distinctive.  It's like Barry White is flying near me!  On the other end of the spectrum, Sling's got a kinda high pitched voice.  :p

Our squad comms are usually pretty intersting, you have three rednecks form Texas and a ol' chap form New Zeland on the line at the same time.  Talk about a language barrier.

To me Whels has the most destinctive AH voice of all the stateside players. There can be continious chatter on the range channel but when he says anything there is no doubt who is talking. :D
