Title: The engagement of flaps
Post by: hblair on April 22, 2000, 02:33:00 AM
Was flying around talking with my squaddies on RW tonight. We were talking about keymapping, and I realize I never engage my flaps in combat in this game, not even one notch, except of course for landing.

I fly mostly B&Z anyways. Am I the only member of the nonflapper  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) club?

I think I used flaps once in combat.  That being said, I should say that I do plan on working on them more now that they are modelled to improve lift.

Flaps use in combat was common only for a few types in WW2 as near as I can tell.

Couldn't fight inthe HOG without flaps... saying that i'm usually desperate when i have to use them LOL
But nothing works better than get your opponent (who's not usiing Flaps) into a rolling scissors and kill him in the less manouverable plane  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

True but Funk they didn't furball like we do  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I've used the flaps in everything and they work well to get 'over the top' or cut that turn a little tighter when really slow.
