Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

It was the Hurri IIb which had twelve .303s. The Spitfire could not carry more than eight guns.

In this game? Nope. The 30 is all but a noisemaker only. You have to "hose" for too long a time to do any real damage on it. :(

I disagree Maverick... 12 303's I imagine will drop an enemy plane fairly quickly +)

How would you know? You'd never see him behind all those hit sprites. :)
Heck, turn tracers on (and who wouldn't with 12 streams of .303s) and it would be like having your own personal smoke screen.

I think it was another version of the hurri that had 12, and as mentioned above i don't think the spitfire could carry that many.
But it would be nice to see the version that had 12 added...
that would be like 6x50 cals AT LEAST (Gotta remember they have higher fire rate as well)!
Earlier today I shot down a seafire with the 2x7.7mms in the Val's front guns, was fortunite enough not to be disturbed by the other fighters :) took a little bit, but eventuelly his wing ripped of, caught on fire and twirled into the ground :D, and (in real life anyway) the guns on the val wernt quit as strong as the 303brownings (at least thats what I read).
I've flown hurriI allot, and if you're a good aim you can shoot the nme's wing of pretty quick, but i like to only use 4 guns at a time cuz it only carries 330 rpg.
Only prob for me is when i fire just 2 or 3 guns after being logged on for 20-30 mins the screen freezes for like 2-5 secs, imagine the lag with 12 guns:eek:
But, I'm all for it! (Though I think there are a few other planes that need adding more, cuz we already have 3 versions of the hurri)

I'd say a single .50 is worth 3-4 .303s at close range, and worth 12-16 at long range.
That said, the .303 is quite capable of killing an enemy aircraft, it just takes a bit longer. I've killed a Typhoon using only the .303s on my Spit IX (did it at the 2001 Con).

I was incorrect, the Hurry IIB had 12 .303s, four mounted on each side close to the cockpit and two mounted on each side further out on the wing. I actually have a pic of a Hurry IIB from Reading's WWII Weekend but I don't have the time to scan it ATM.
