Title: Don't know where these P-38's are coming from?
Post by: Buzzbait on July 16, 2002, 12:03:48 AM
S!

I never added P-38's to the  setup, don't know how they got there.  They have no place in the setup.

This Arena is definitley weird right now.  Must be some kind of bug.

I added Spitfire V at one British field.   109G2 at all other fields.

By the way, Spit V arrived July '42.  109G2 arrived September '42.

S!

Now I know where they are coming from.

The two airbases in Tunisia were setup as Neutral Rook with no aircraft.  When the server reset, they went back to Knight.  And the server also reset them to the previous setup's aircraft allotment.  Which included P-38's and Jugs.

My apologies.  Have changed these bases back to Rook and no aircraft.

Ahhh... so that's what it was. When I saw the jugs and ponies last night I thought something like that must be behind it. for the fix, and thanks!

There have been a lot of server problems over the last couple of weeks, as many of you have noted.  Unexplained resets, with random country rotations and aircraft set up tables dumped back to some weird defaults.  Burma saw it's share as well.  I talked with Pyro about it, and they thought they had it straightened out.  Guess not, eh?  We appreciate your patience.  Definitely some strange goings-on.

I hate to tell ya... but the jugs are back. Just like in reality, it seems the jug just won't die, lol! :D  Oh well, take a well deserved break, let 'em go. It'll all get ironed out sooner or later. It seems most people know the jug ain't supposed to be there and they aren't flying it anyway. Those who are probably won't upset any "balance", no problem.

Heh heh.  Last nite was flying an Emil as escort to 10bears, Cajun and Perrin in Ju88s as they bombed Malta.  P-47D-30 suddenly appears.  Let me tell you something, it is really hard to chase that plane down in an Emil.

Spitfire Vs actually arrived at Malta in March of 1942, delivered from HMS Eagle. They saw combat March 10th with 249 RAF. It was the first use of Spitfires outside of Britain.

Actually, I don't mind the spitty's at all. It's those dang wildcats that get my blood boiling! Nice manouverability, and tough as hell, they are a challenge... at least to me. If they don't beat me on angles, they force the overshoot really well, even when I yoyo to beat it. Of course, those dang VF-27 boys (hehe :D ) seem to fly the F4 well too. I just hope the next setup has either jap iron or a 190, lol  .
