It my understanding that either 1.10 or the next verson will support custom "skins." My questions are:
1) Will these skins be allowed in the MA...if not then w/ is the use?
2) How do u make them...is/will there be any documentation?
3) Is it 1.10 or w/ it be the next verson?

As I understand it, the skins will be part of the terrain file download and cannot be changed by the user. So, if we get a desert terrain, we could have desert camo planes, etc. I imagine that it'd work in the MA (when the arena resets to a new map, the planes get new skins) but its main use seems to be for scenarios. When we get a map for a scenario, we can get custom-skinned planes from historically-correct units along with it.

The only thing I have heard is that they would tied into a specific MAP.

I forgot about this - has anyone messed with this yet? Are the necessary files to do this hiding somewhere?

'Skins' are budled with the Terrain file. There are no player created skins in the MA and there won't be for some time, if ever, judging by what HT has said.
The only place you will be likely to see custom skins anytime soon will be special events or H2H once someone figures how to do it.
Check the 'terrain editor general' forum for more details, there have been a few post about this since 1.10 came out

Can we access the plane skins yet? If so, how?

Skin feature comes with the new version of the terrain editor which isn't out yet.
