God, not a Sherman! Sorry, muzzle velocity way too slow, and the armor was not all that great...
How about the T-34 or, naturally, a Tiger tank.
And, I cannot imagine a GV that would need to be perked..
Please advise!

SdKfz 171: the PzKpfw V "Panther", the workhorse of the Panzertruppen:
-
SdKfz 181: PzKpfw VI "Tiger", with the dreaded/beloved KwK 36 L51 8,8cm:

No games' tank collection would be complete withou the SdKfz 142, the StuG III
Sturmgeschütze vor !
-
T34-85..
-
And last, but not least the SdKfz 234, PzSpW "Puma", toting a 5cm KwK 39:
(this thing goes everywhere, and fast!)

HT did mention that they're working on a GV so hopefully it'll be a tank. I wouldn't mind a Sherman, T34 or a Pnzr V :)

That picture looks like either one of the long 75mm variants or a Sherman Firefly with the British 17pdr anti-tank gun.

T34-85 would be good, but had no AA MG in WW2, this might be a problem in AH.
Any M4 75mm would be best for overall usage in both MA and scenarions.
The 76mm Shermans only appered in limited numbers by June 1944. IIRC only 200 were available in June 1944. 75mm Shermans were in use from fall 1942.
So a 75mm Sherman would be best.

Thats my vote, and very compatible with our current Mark IV, correct?
We need something that will be USED, not sit in the hangar...the Panzer we have now would eat up a Sherman.
-
a su100 for the russians
a churchill IV for the british
a M-18 for the americans
that would round out the tanks at least

How about the Shermans from the movie, "Kelly's Heroes" that had the turret attachment that made it look like a 90MM?
Also be sure, HTC, that you model the "paint armament" option, the record player :)

DWEEBS !!!

With all the wide open spaces available on the new map I thing this may be more in order.

....and some terrains where we can use them.

I'd say that the 75mm Sherman would be most appropriate and useful overall. My second choice, by a very narrow margin, would be the T-34.
Until those two have been added, no other tank is really appropriate. Once they are present then I would champion a Panther followed by the British tank of your choice.
I can also come up with one very good reason not to add the Tiger. Just sit quietly for a moment and try to imagine what these boards would be like when the Ostwinds started taking out the Tigers...

Noway it sinks
mine doesn't :D
very usefull

T34-85 and Katyusha rocket launcher trucks for the Soviets
Matilda for the British
US and Germany have enough armored stuff/GV's as it is.
Definitely not time for a Tiger, not til the GV damage models are fixed. Kinda like was just said, can you imagine, even for an instant, the whines that would be posted on this BBS from all the Tigers dying to Ostwinds?
-
just can't find a pic with a mg3 on it
but probably would have been fitted with some machine gun
-
Please include at LEAST one new tank in V1.11
No.
-
No.
Shaddup
-
ok........like we have a lake in AH............we have oceans and i wouldn't pefer to attack a fleet with a .303 gun
-
so in turn JEEPS RULE WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
new for 1.11?
whats wrong with the Tiger II we got in 1.10? spending my perkies now :D
-
How about a nice Elefant Tank Killer, Or a Sturmtiger, with its nice 380 MM anti-anything rockets (sure there are only 8), or an IS-2 Josef Stalin with the 128 MM mounted in the turret and armor from here to where it stops :)
-
How bout 76mm Shermans or a mix with 75mm with "Perk" sandbags in a formation of 3 like the bombers.
-
mwahahahahAHAHAHA....

Nath I have been on this tank before. I love this tank and think it is awesome but man can you imagine trying to use a tank that cannot traverse its turret in AH?
Aberdeen Is where it is located along with a ton of other cool toejam.
-
heh yeah, i took the pic.
I love the Hetzer there.
-
I was peeved when I found out they transferred the Tiger to Fort Knox. The Jagdtiger is HUGE, you don't realize how big it is until you stand on top of the turret. The Jagdpanther next to it is another fine piece of work. I just hope they can get them inside before they are laid to rest by the elements. What about the twin 128mm rail gun AA? Sheesh!!
-
we already got enough german and american stuff
Add some British stuff!
eg.
churchill IV
Comet (one fast tank, 50mph i think)
And that one with a flame thrower (just make it so osties can't kill buildings!)

Rip
I believe a 75mm M4A3 and the T34/85 all as non perk would be excellent additions to AH. The T34/85 has gun parity with the panzer IVH and supperior armour and speed but no AAmg.
The Sheman has supperior speed and armour to the Panzer IV but inferior gun(still kill capable though) With a 50Cal AAMG. Maybe with gyro sight too.
The cheapest perk would be a Sherman M4A3e8(debate on that still I bet) Wich has better gun then the T34, tiny bit slower and simular armour. with AAMG.
The panther the IS2m the Sherman Jumbo(76) obviosly perk tanks)
I think people dont think about how important that AAMG is in this game. The good top armour, AAMG and fast rate of fire for HE rounds make the Sherman a good choice for this game. The T34/85 would eat it up tank to tank..but scary to think about rolling around in a tank with NO top gun at all. Much less the 50 cal of the Sherman.
They HAVE to fix the armour damage and effect model of the game though...
And introduce a few more ammo types like APCR and AFPFDS and HEAT
