no it's not a french plane (hint : look at the paint job ;))
now name it :)
-
thats not as ugly as a P38..
-
I'm sorry, but that can't compare to the Waitomo Airtruk (seen briefly at the end of 'Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome'):

It does have serious competition from the Westland-Hill Pterodactyl V, though:

And for sheer lunacy, there's always the Vedo Villi:
But in more common ugliness, there's the Potez 75:
or the Fleet Shadower:
or the P.Z.L.W.S.4 'Zubr':
or the Blackburn F3:
or the Camproni Stipa:
or the Il-20 'Gorbun':

There have been immense amounts of ugliness perpetrated on the skies, but only a few really qualify to have gotten into the air only because they were repelled by the ground...

I feel ill, I feel very very ill.
-
I know it, I know it! But I cant remember the name!!!...
Some transprt or something, saw it on a web site, I think it only had a top speed of around 110 mph!
-
guppy
-
Here's the winner...
-
We must have bought it from the French......
-
There's not such thing as an ugly plane :p

OH! my eyes HurT!!!!!!!!!!!!
:D
-
My eyes !
Before I saw that pic of the camproni stimpa I believed that there was a god !
-
that Campori Stimpa looks like something you get from a kinder egg on Eastern. Just attach wings to the yellow plastic 'egg' and voila!
If Stimpa existed before WWII HTC should put modelling it as highest priority. no question.

Hey, isn't that a baby-jug? :D
-
The Caproni Stipa was a bizarre design, built in 1932 to test the thrust effect of a tubular fuselage. The 120 Hp. DH Gipsy III yielded a top speed of 81 Mph, and the lift effect of the tube made the landing speed 42 Mph. A sort of ancestor to modern ducted-fan designs, it faded quickly into a well-deserved and much-appreciated oblivion.

That egg looking plane can not fly I sure of it!
