does look like an interesting plane though... did it even serve in WW2?

It wasnt originally Japanese and its not a japanese copy of something... (afaik)

It looks like a Hansa-Brandenburg W.29 or W.33, except that the engine is wrong and the gunner's position is different:

Hmmm... Engine, Wings, and seats look a little different, but Shiva might be right, maybe its a japanese modified version?

well done shiva, yes thats what the picture was entitled: a Hansa-Brandenburg, didnt say what version.

and nothing from Mitsu....!
